Buyer beware - Support Team confirmed glitch - No saving progress past Chapter 3

There is a known issue that the game stops saving progress after Chapter 3. See response from Joey Drew Studios Bendy Support below.

This is incredibly frustrating. I've seen posts about this from last year and there is still no solution anticipated any time soon. I was enjoying the game until I could no longer save. Unless you have the free time to play through in one sitting, this game will be a huge let down.

I've requested a refund.

Almost every one of the 19 pages in this forum going back to January has someone complaining about this. They might be working hard at something but I doubt it's fixing this issue.

Least you could save that far in, I supposedly saved games but when I went to play it today there isn't any so I have to start from scratch! Friggin' annoying as I really like the game, guess I'll start it in the early a.m. hours tomorrow and try to get a full run through in one sitting *sigh*

I think a small fix to this is only saving on a specific save slot. I think it's the 2nd save slot that will let you save the whole way through.

On the store page of the game, at the bottom of the bar to the right, just above the start of the reviews is a picture of a flag with the tooltip "Report this product." I recommend everyone affected by the game's issues (such as not being able to save or use the options menu) report the game for being broken, making sure to describe the issues.
Issues like this make the game effectively unplayable, and yet it's still being sold. If enough people report it for being in this state, eventually Valve will issue an ultimatum: fix it or stop selling it.
Some of these issues have only existed since the release of chapter 5, and some have existed for longer, but one thing is true for all of them: the devs don't care to fix them. I've messaged their support in the past, and I was outright ignored, never even receiving so much as a copy-paste response like jon.dart got. The risk of loss is the only thing that's going to motivate them to fix this.

EDIT: On a side note, I have noticed something likely related to this issue: if, when trying to save the game, the Bendy head in the bottom-right corner doesn't go away for an extended period of time, quit the game. The game won't save from that point forward, but reloading the game MIGHT fix it. If it never saves, like in SongSparra's case, I don't know that there's anything that can be done.

First save slot worked fine for me. I beat the whole game. My guess is you're using Chapter Select to pick and choose which chapter you play.

Odd, I was able to save progress on one machine, but on this one I can't at all... though I feel relieved that I'm not the only one experiencing this bug.

Im 95% sure, the chapter select option breaks saving for all the game.

I finished the game with no troubles but once I finished the game and used chapter select to go back to episode 3, saving broke all around. It doesnt even work by creating a new game on chapter 1.

So yeah, dont use chapter select.

i use the second one the most probably and i never experienced this error so i think you're right

Nope; not the case. I've never used the Chapter select. I started a new game and saved just fine until a certain point. It's a glitch. Developers know about it. It manifests intermittently and at various times for different people.
