Alice Angel Backstory Theory
I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet, but I think Alice has a backstory worth learning about, as it genrally effects you in chapter three. I arrived at this conclusion by analyzing her behaviors, quotes, information from the tapes, general old cartoon tropes, and logical deductions.

My theory: Alice Angel has the souls of two people inide of her, One being Susie Campbell, and the other being Allison Pendle.

My evidence:
1: Did you notice that Alice has two voices?
2: The tape recorders tell a story.
3: Alice says several things indicating that this is the case.
4: Joey Drew's tape in the Demon tunnel shows that he may just be insane.
5: The apperant split personality Alice has closely mirriors the tropes in movies like Snow white and Sleeping Beauty.

Of course, this is just a list of details, I need to support and explain this. Let's start at the begining. The Alice jumpscare. Before she comes and scares you, a high pitched voice is singing her theme song, when she does scare you, her voice switches to a deeper more serious voice. As you progress and find Alices "lab," let's call it, the first thing she says to you is basically, "Do I kill you, or do I not kill you?" Take note that she says this with her deeper, more authoritive voice. And before that, on the way up to the lab as you're going through the feild of dead boris's, the high pitched voice explains the motive behind it, but also says, "I had to do it. She made me."

I don't know about you, but that says alot, anyways, I'm not sure how many theorists picked up on that. Moreover, I also have reason to belive that the deeper voice not only is the 'she,' that the high-pitched voice is talking about, but considering that the only two female characters we know of are Susie, and Allison, as we learn after the Alice jumpscare, that the deep-voice belongs to Allison. If you're going to say, "I'm fairly certain that Alice doesn't have two voices," don't worry, there's an explimation for that.

When a voice actor can't return to a character, whether it's because they died or they refused to come back. The company has to replace them, and to stay in continuity, the new actor has to sound extremly similer. Take the voice actor for Aku in Samuri Jack for instance, you probably didn't notice that the voice actor was different in the final season.

Anyways, I know I promised a theory on her backstory, I know, but knowing all this is essential to completing a backstory timeline. The final thing I want to take about before getting into the backstory, is the personalities of the voices. The deeper voice seems to be the dominant power, and this voice is extremly vain and cruel. Based on those things alone, how many animated villains come to mind. If you guessed the evil queen, Maleficent, or Mother Gothel, then you know what I'm saying. Now then, the other voice, well, we don't know much about it, other than it belongs to Susie who's determined to stay in the business, and that it bleeds through Alice's diolouge when she expresses fear. Once again, based on just that, does it remind you of any classic disney movie? Me, I think of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, and that scene when she's running through the forest. The only thing these two can agree on, is their fear of being pulled back, and of the Ink Demon, Bendy.

So, yeah, Alice has two peronalities, a real Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation. Only in this case, both personalities are conscious.

Now then, the backstory:
The events that happened before the game that sent the studio to crap likely took place in the 1920s-30s, before or during the Great Depression. When jobs were scarce, and the only joy people took from life was going to the movies. As the boss of the studio, Joey Drew has some big plans and dreams. Henry's already left. And some major budget cuts are being made. Susie, who voices Alice, is devestated to hear she's being replaced, and in a time when jobs repidly dissapear, I get why she would try and prevent it. We hear this on the tape located in The Angel tunnel after the Alice jumpscare. In an attempt to keep her job, Susie talks to Joey, unbeknownst to her, however, Joey has, other, more devious plans.

Quick sidenote:
Some people in the fandom believe Joey is Bendy. I believe chapter three supports this theory. Should you take the tunnel marked as, The Demon, you find a tape left behind by Joey Drew himself, in it he talks about the power of belief. He notes through the power of belief, he could cheat death. He then writes it off as a "silly thought," but I don't think he did. Moreover, that's the only tape from Joey Drew in the game at all.

Joey plans to use Susie to his own ends, to get his plan in gear, her pretends to care about her and gets closer to her. We learn this from Susie in the tape located outside the enterence to Alice's lab, on a platform in the room of dead Borises, Whether they entered a relationship, i'll leave that up to you, but remember, Alice says, "I will not let that demon touch me again," translate that as you will. Eventually, he plans on attempting to turn Susie into a living cartoon. But, Joey gets inked and becomes Bendy. In the end, Allison is Joey's first attempt to create an Alice Angel. It doesn't work, or so he thinks. Hence why Alice claims that she was not only born twice, but that the first time, she was a blob of ink. The second attempt, was Susie, somehow, the two people became one, probably because Joey/Bendy forgot to clean the Allison-blob from his lab before starting another experiment.

Continuing on, The next attempt was a success. But Alice was deformed, hidious, a montrosity. And Allison, the vain person, didn't take to that lightly. She forces them to escape to the lower levels, and discovers a way to make herself beautiful. But harvesting the hearts/souls of other cartoons, preferably Borises, and using their essense to fix herself. She finds a storage tank of ink, using that, she creates more Borises to use.

This goes on in a cycle, create, harvest, absorb/eat/whatever she does, rinse-repeat. It goes on until Henry comes, and reactivates the Ink Machine, reviving the variious monsters and demons hiden in the studio.

I could be wrong about the backstory, after, the only for-sure information we have is that something went down for Susie, Alice has two souls, and Joey is nuts

i thought that Susie IS Alice and her rage of Allison is the deeper voice and Allison has the higher voice because maybe she fears Susie!

Yeah, I also thought about that because, in the tape of Susie in the angel path, she sounds desesperate, and at the end says "There's gotta be a way to fix this!!". I think she could have gone to the extreme of trying to become Alice Angel by herself, with the secondary Ink Machine we can see in some stairs, but it went wrong and, as she says, was a "wiggling, pussling, shapeless slug". But then, she somehow trapped Allison, and combined her with her, and started to use the Borises to make herself more "beautiful", even though Allison didn't like it, because Susie is the one in control

The Alice jumpscare. Before she comes and scares you, a high pitched voice is singing her theme song
That voice isn't her.
It's a recording of when the show was playing.
Maybe it was her ,but not her when the game takes place. (Probably)
Everything else gets the logic seal of approval

I thought it was clear that Inked Alice was made of two beings: Susie Campbell and the real Alice Angel and that Allison Pendle isn't part of the fusion/isn't in the game.

One voice is deep, serious, and a Human. The other is light, fun, and a Cartoon. Susie either wanted to actually be Alice Angel or believed that she was Alice Angel, when she saw the real Alice Angel walking around after the cartoons came to life she forced Alice to fuse with her so she could truly be the real thing, and it is forced because the Alice Angel cartoon voice says "I didn't want this, she made me do it." when they're talking about how they came to be like this.

You know what's missing to strenghten your theory? To quote a part of the dialogue from Susie's third audio log where she says about Joey: "He even called me Alice. I liked it", just to underscore Joey's intentions of turning Susie into Alice ;)

Now that i've noticed it...how can an old thread from 2017 be brought back to life? X°D

Thank you all for the feedback!
I do suppose Susie was the one in cotrol during the game, It first I thought we spoke to Allison Pendle because the voice we hear more often is deeper than the voice we here on the tapes, or maybe that was just me. The only way we could know for sure is if Allison has a tape. If her voice id higher, she's the victim of Susie, if her voice is deeper, then it's likely that she's the one who gave us hell in Chapter 3.

Of course, I might be wrong about that. Maybe Most of my evidence regarding this outside of the tapes is old cartoon stereotypes. The princess has a cutesy high-pitched voice, the evil queen / evil fairy has a deeper voice.

Or maybe CyanDoomdragon is right and the Alice we see is a fusion of Susie and the actual Alice Angel.
Could be possible, we do see Boris and the Butcher gang in-game, maybe others were brought to life.
