Bug Fixes and Requested Features
Hey everyone,

I wanted to make a central bug thread so you guys know what we're working on and what information we need before we can start working on these fixes. I'll be trying to scour the threads for new bugs, but if something's not up here already please post it in this thread so it'll be easy for me to find.

Useful debug information:
  • DxDiag output
  • Steps to reproduce the issue
  • Screenshot of in-game settings
  • Crash dump files
    Often located here %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps
    It would be from fateextellalink.exe

Here are some tips to make sure you're getting the best performance out of your PC!
  • Make sure your graphics card is being fully utilized:
    • Stay updated with relevant drivers from your card manufacturer's website
    • Make sure you are using your main graphics card. Different graphics card manufacturers will have guides on how to always use your dedicated card.
  • Add Fate/EXTELLA LINK to the exceptions of any antivirus program:
    • fateextellalink.exe is the executable file you need to add.
  • Turn off any power saving mode your computer might be using:
    • Go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options
    • Balanced or High Performance profiles should be chosen. Any Power Saving mode will lower game performance.

Make sure your controller settings are correct for this game!
1) In the Steam client, go to Steam - Settings - Controller and then click "General Controller Settings"
2) In the window that pops up, uncheck support for Xbox, PlayStation, and Generic Gamepad since those controller types are natively supported.
3) In your Steam Library, right-click Fate/EXTELLA LINK and go to "Properties" and choose "Forced Off" if you use one of the above supported controllers.
4) Be sure to turn off any third-party controller support software as it may interfere with controller functionality in Fate/EXTELLA LINK.

Save Issues Solution
Please check if you have cloud saves enabled for the game. If not, please enable them and check if this folder has any files that are not LINKSAVEDATA.bin:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[USER ID]\622220\remote\savedata
The [USER ID] will differ from user to user.

If there are any files aside from the LINKSAVEDATA.bin there, please back up LINKSAVEDATA.bin by copying it to another location on your computer. Then, delete any other files in that folder.

Once you have followed those steps, please check if you are able to load your save data and save properly. Make sure you know where you have backed up your save data just in case.

This is a very good description of the problem many of us are experiencing. It's very annoying. I don't have any fps drops or performance issues. this is clearly bad game design. I'd bet the way they set the camera to follow you is causing it to bounce, as if it was collinding with the floor and bouncing back up.

Actually, for me at least, that glitch stopped after I played a stage or 2. I know it still exists, though, and it does need to be fixed.

For me it appears sometimes, not regularly. And kinda rarely, but it hasn't gone away completely.

Feel free to request new features as well and I'll pass on what I can to the devs.

Hi again,

I have just started to play with Lancelot. I feel that his attack speed is too low and besides that he isn't that impressive either.
Please ask the Dev team if they may buff his attack speed a little - in Fate Zero he is such a powerful servant.

Thanks in advance
He's already an AoE monster, just like the other two Berserkers. Don't bother with normal attacks. Stack martial blessing. Use cooldown reduction code casts. Go nuts.

Wow, I'm also having the same problem. Only really happens with Darius in my case.

Controller Issues

The Xbox and DS4 controllers work flawlessly, but only when controller configuration support for said controllers is DISABLED. Having configuration support disabled is really inconvenient because some of my games will not function properly without it and a lot of them won't work with my DS4 over Bluetooth. And I cannot get this one to work over BT with my DS4 at all.

Now that I've 100% completed the game (without multiplayer), I have a feature request...

I know the devs are only sticking around to fix bugs, but I'm hoping they add something for max leveled players to play around with.

There are only two Lv.150 stages in the game, both of them are boss fights. It'd be nice to have multi-sector stages at max level. I know the game wouldn't be any harder, but at the very least enemies won't be dying as fast. And I'd imagine the easiest way to do it is to remake all EX Stages in a separate list with Lv150 enemies and let people toggle between normal EX stages and max level EX stages.

While we're at it, maybe give enemy servants a bigger health pool? Not the shadow servants though, only the enemies that gives you an intro cutscene when you or they enter the same sector. They kept the enemy mechanic of being able to Moon Drive, but they don't even survive long enough to use it.

Edit: Can we get a mass-disassemble function as well?

I would love to have a "play random stage mode". I would just take all cut scenes out of it though. Just pure random awesome action.

Only one major bug I found is that sometimes the camera shakes like an earthquake while I'm moving my character. In fact, sometimes it doesn't, but sometimes it just happens, which is very annoying. Please fix this quickly, developers.

Got a Fatal Error when launching in offline mode. Please fix. This kind of DRM is seriously unnecessary.

If game don't lunch on ASUS noteboks and motherboards, you must disable Asus sonic radar! After i disable it game start to work normal:) Same problem can be with MSI motherboards and Nahimic Audio Drivers, but i don't have MSI to test it.

Please, make it so that auto-kill jeanne Noble Phantasm doesn't affect mission rank.
She will still kill herself and take the damage, but those aren't counted in the final mission score.
That would be perfect.
And thx for the amazing musou you made

It would be nice if crossplay with Nintendo Switch online multiplayer came out, so we can play with friends who bought it for Switch.
Multiplayer is a great mode to play for end-gamers like me who want a bit of challenge and it keeps me coming back to play the game every day. Just a small thought, but may there be a new option besides "King of the Hill"? That'd be awesome.

I just got the achievement for completing chapter 1 to 27 on Very Hard after completing only chapter 1-26 and an extra quest.
I would've gotten it in a few minutes anyway, but I guess it's a bug.
