Difference between Fate/Extella: Umbral Star and Fate/Extella Link?
Hello. new to steam in general. I'm gonna be honest i really love the Fate/Extella series and I'm dying to save up to buy it (I'm a HUGE fan of hack n slash games esp such as HQ as this and...not gonna lie, Tamamo No Mae and Elizabeth Bathory kinda got me wanting it XD im a big fan of animal-human hybrids (i think? Elizabeth is part dragon? i believe. that's just what i read from the fate/extella wiki anyways) but i absolutely love tamamo no mae and Elizabeth Bathory's design, and I'm also a lover of casters too),

but I'm seeing 2 Fate/Extellas. Umbral star and link. Whats the difference between the two? i know Link is a direct Sequel to Umbral Star, so do the 2 games connect in some way in regards to like story-line and game-play to the point where id have to play umbral star first THEN link? or are the 2 games not all that relevant to each other so i wouldnt be drop dead confused game-play/story-line wise if i play Link first?

thank you for your time ^^

Yes, The Umbral Star starts the story and Link continues it, but Link is way better gameplay wise and you dont really have to play The Umbral Star to understand the story, cause Link shortly explains what happened before.

i see. so they ARE connected. yeah i heard Umbral Star is more so slow and story driven, while Link is more so action based, but im a person who kind of enjoys a really good story(cytus 2 ftw! XD) i guess i gotta buy both to understand the whole story XD lol. but other than that, Umbral Star is basically chapter 1, and Link is Chapter 2 with Chapter 1 recaps?

The one before this one has such a good story line. Their both mushu games though so its not like the gameplay is all that different just this one has skills you get to use as well.

Umbral Star has much better story, but gameplay is not that great. I was a bit sad that they didnt mention more ( especially that Archimedes was the bad guy, while in Link he and Master acted like they never knew eachother ). Gameplay in Link is something I enjoy times and times over, but story lacks a bit.

the problem i have found with extella umbral star is the leveling you don't get level if you overlevel and if your not enought you get oneshot by servant ( yes done the game in normal and now am trying to 100 the game ( all succes that is) i use to cheat to get to max level with the most powerfull character so i don't have to grind all the other.
i got to level 51 legit and when i saw a level 40 mission ( very hard) with servant oneshotting me while am 10 level higher i just broke it just not possible to make something like this i know it's a musou but damn getting one shot while you are more powerfull then them there is a problem (was using artoria) but this is just for extella normal i still havent touch link as like i say want all the succes on umbral star first

hmm interesting. i just finished off medus, im just playinig on easy since ive never played hack n slash games, but i can see where thats a problem. but its also a hack n slash. high action fast pace strateigical game. i often see a lot of games with bosses that are rather redicuously overpowered, to make you strateigize and think more, so i think that applies to here too but i can see what you mean. i mostly just got this game so i can play tamamo XD
