I've never played a WRC game ebfore and I can't find any hard information on what to expect from WRC7 multiplayer. I know 2 players can race splitscreen on the same track, but what about online racing? Is it limited to Online Challenges where you compare times to other drivers? Or can you create a lobby for a game and have multiple players run the same course at the same time to play out championships like in Dirt 4? Or do multiple players race on the same track at the same time, but with delayed starts?

I really would like to have some aspect of live, simultaneous gameplay for multiplayer. Leaderboards and time comparisons after racing solo is not what I would consider to be true multiplayer.

But is there a way to play a complete rally with friends but also have ai in a league?
Not ai ghosts, but just a league that we're competing in?

With both hosting and joining a complete rally online, there is no option for AI, I'm afraid.

The current eSports season will continue in WRC 6. However, 2018's eSports season will take place in WRC 7 and we will announce further details as soon as possible.

But why is there no option for Offline Multiplayer (either split screen or hot seat) to play an entire rally with all stages? Not just stage by stage. The Solo mode allows this ...
