Thrustmaster TH8A Add-On Shifter as handbrake in WRC7?
Has anyone been able to configure a TH8A shifter as the handbrake in WRC7? It works fine in Dirt Rally and Dirt4 - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcX3NYMIO9E -, but so far I've been unable to make WRC7 accept the shifter as a handbrake in any way (connected to the wheel, connected only to the PC, H-shifter, H-shifter 90-degree rotation, sequential shifter). Looks to me WRC 7 accepts only one type of input at one given time. I do hope someone can help me. I'm using the shifter with a Thrustmaster T300 RS on PC.

Have you opened the software for the TH8a and set it to ANOLOG

Not a shifter but I use my thrustmaster joystick as a handbrake. I had to install joytokey and map the joystick back axis to a button because WRC 7 only accepts on/off button input and not an analog axis.

I tried hard to have the TH8A set in analog mode as HB but so far no success but I manage to have analog HB rewiring the clutch cables to my analog HB tha use a 10k pot similar to the clutch pedals. the results are very very good and i can feel the improvements.

Works fine for me in sequential mode. Does WRC actually allow for analog handbrake? I thought it was on or off.

Yes, I did check "analog" in the TH8A software. It works fine in Dirt4 but not in WRC7.

What do you mean? I tried to map the shifter in sequential mode as the handbrake, but that messes up your gear flap, i.e. in sequential mode the shifter is mapped to the same action as the gear shift (flap) behind the wheel. I'd appreaciate if you explained how you set up what to use the TH8A shifter as the handbrake and still use the flaps for gear up/down.

WRC7 Hand Brake can be mapped to analog Axis - if the game then translate to on off i am not sure but i can tell you I improved after mapping as it was the clutch pedal, it is the position or the placebo effect? i dont think so.
Previously i had my t500rs paddles mapped as up/down shift and TH8A in sequential mode and the pull button was my Handbrake and i was missing a lot of hairpins

OK, so what you're saying is that it IS possible to use the paddles as shift up/down and the TH8A in sequential mode as the handbrake?
If so, did you have the TH8A connected to the wheel or to the PC? If connected to the wheel, how did you make WRC7 not to detect the sequential pull as the gear up (or down) paddle? Maybe if you could upload the screenshots for setting this up or list the steps of configuration, I could reproduce it with my T300RS. I really appreaciate all y'all's help.

the th8a it is connected directly to the pc using the usb cable

for the screenshot frankly that now everything is working as i like I am afraid to make any changes..

Currently i have T500RS with logitech g27 pedals and TH pedal adapter
the pedals i am using only gas and brake
the clutch wires are connected to analog HB
The TH8A is my seq shifter because i install a larger rim (300mm) and the paddles are too short

Previously i had T500RS with logitech g27 pedals and TH pedal adapter
Paddles shifter on wheel for Up/down shifting (using the original 280mm rim i could reach)
the pedals gas brake and clutch not mapped
TH8A connected to USB in seq mode using the down button as HB

I hope that will help

I have it hooked up as a separate device. I don't have it hooked up through the wheel for that exact reason. Plug it straight into the computer using the usb adapter.

OK, let me get this straight:
1. I need to connect the T300 RS and the TH8A separately to the PC. OK, I've gotten so far.
2. How do I map the two separate devices in WRC7 for the two different actions, i.e. the paddles to up/down shift and the TH8A as the handbrake? In which menu and what do I need to select to be able to configure the two separately?
3. Do I need to use the TH8A with the sequential plate installed (instead of the H-pattern) to be able to use it as the handbrake?

Thanks for your patience.

1. Yes
2. Options, controls, steering, button bindings (at work, I think that's correct or at least close)
3. Yes in order for it to be in sequential mode and get appropriate button mapped.

Finally, the issue is RESOLVED.
Looks like we had done exactly what you suggested except that WRC7 can only be run after everything is set up, and once you launch the software, it cannot actually work out changes in the connected device(s). Previously when we disconnected the shifter from the wheel and connected it to the PC while the game was on, WRC7 complained that the device was disconnected. No such problem with Dirt4 though.
Thank you for your help, everything works fine now. Have a great weekend and all the best from Hungary.
