Save game wont load
Yesterday it just so happened the update broke the save game thing and i cant play pc building sim so plz fix this

Or loading previous manual saves if they have any. Hopefully they have some.

mine wouldn't work either - So I had to start a new game and my level was at like 10 - and my free build file won't load either. I even moved it to start a new one and it won't work.. worked fine before the update this week. So I guess I can't do free build at all :(

This might help you: Right click on the game in your steam library -> Properties -> Uncheck the [_] Box for Steam Cloud (So it won't pull down your corrupted files off the cloud again after you do this) -> Local files -> Browse button -> Go in to the Saves folder for your game and either delete or save or whatever.. remove the "freebuild.binary" file from your saves folder. Delete it or move it to another folder if you want to save it, something so it's not in the saves folder anymore. Then close the windows explorer window and close the steam properties window and start the game then your FreeBuild will be usable again. This will of course wipe out everything you have created in free build. But if you already can't use it at all right now then I guess you won't lose much anyway. Once you have the game starting and you're able to enter free build again then you can exit the game to windows -> properties again -> turn on steam cloud again -> then when you start the game steam will say that there is a conflict between what's in the cloud and what's on your computer. Tell it to upload from your computer in to the cloud and it will resume working with cloud save support again.

I still cannot load my saved game or the auto save game. Support replied to my initial enquiry asking to send my save game file which I did. That was weeks ago and heard nothing since. I work in IT support myself and am very unimpressed by their lack of response.

Only way I can play is to start from scratch and lose months of progress.

You could try talking to them in real time on discord by the way.

Happened to me too. Was playing couple of hours today and closed it due to having lunch or whatever the heck I did. Now I wanted to restart the game and continue in my level TWENTY SIX savegame and... bam! Nothing.. wont load, kicks me an error screen in the face and than takes me back to the main menu. Manual save doesnt load, auto save doesnt load.

Tried to "repair" the files via Steam, didnt change anything.

Free build however, which I dont use very much (only for testing very specific builds for career mode) still works perfectly and it even shows me the last builds I tested.

So WHAT should I do now? I'm pretty underwhelmed right now and I dont think I wanna spend another 100 hours just for reaching the level that I already had - and losing TONS of hardware I collected over the career mode.

And NO, I'm sure I didnt reach any inventory limits because the last 10 ingame days I was constantly, on a daily basis, selling off complete builds on PCBay.

Do you have any previous manual saves you can try loading?

Nope. I dont see the point in having a gazillion save games of one and the same career mode. Two should be plenty. When I'm failing at a job, that's one point. But who would've thought of "Hey, maybe somewhere in the future all of my saves will go bad so better have one from every single session I played this game"?

I don't know what else to suggest then. You can contact them via discord and their website and see if they can solve it for you.

You can try, but you'll lucky if they keep replying..........they asked for my saved game then have ignored any requests for 3 weeks now.

The problem seems to be related to a typo in the game's assets itself. Some user in Discord found out that it might be related to this line here, being generated upon gamestart (eg. loading a corrupted save)

"can't find prefab v1_9_0/Prefabs/GPU/EVGA/GPU_EVGA_GeForce_RTX_2080_Super_FTW3_Ultra_Hydro_Cooper_Gaming"

You can clearly see that one part of the graphics card's name is "Cooper" and obviously it should be "Copper". Unfortunately I cannot decompile the big game files since they seem to be encrypted (not just uncompressed zip archives as often done by other games). So for now I dont seem to have ANY chance to recover my savegame as long as the devs wont come up with another solution.

WARNING TO EVERYBODY:
AS FOR NOW, DO NOT USE LIQUID COOLED RTX 2080 SUPER OR RTX 2080 TI CARDS WITH "COPPER/COOPER" IN THEIR NAMES!
