Oh, thats something COMPLETELY different as to what i was thinking because i was thinking it was modular in the sense of 2 lego bricks attatching to create one big one not in this sense. Thanks!
Actually a little more in-depth detail.. non-modular power supplies have the cables soldered directly to the main circuit board inside the power supply, which traditionally has proved to provide a better connection for high current power supplies (1300 watts or higher) But all the cables come attached, you can't remove any, and it clutters up the case inside trying to hide all the cables you don't use. Modular power supplies have a "quick connect" daughter board that has all the connections you plug the wires in to, and connects to the main circuit board via some sort of connection.. it's different how modular power supplies connect with every manufacturer. Not as good of a connection to the power supply, but more popular because you can physically unplug the wires you don't use, and reduce clutter in the case, making for a cleaner build. But all of this only matters, like I said, for high current applications. If you're dealing with 1000-watts or less on a power supply, modular or not-modular is mostly irrelevant, so folks pick what ever they want. 500~600 watt power supplies are most common for computer builds today.

bassicly you can remove cables from the PSU without having to replace the whole PSU
