Building my own computer

I wonder if all the parts of my computer are available in the game and how to find out exactly what parts my computer has. I would love to upgrade it but it would be nice to simulate an upgrade first. Has anyone ever done this before (I have a feeling the answer is a resounding "yes", lol)?
