Part 2 not on Steam?
Why can we not buy it here?

It is not "Part 2". It is PC Building Simulator 2. It is a completely different game with new hardware in it. And you can not buy it here on Steam because the parent company above the game studio who made PCBS 1 sold out to Epic Games. So now Epic Games owns everything to do with "PC Building Simulator" both 1 and 2. Since they own both games they (Epic Games) decided that they wanted PC Building Simulator 2 to only be released on Epic Games and not on Steam. So that's how it is. It is not a "temporary exclusive" for the new second game this time. Epic Games is the creator, publisher, and complete owner of the second game. It will be exclusive to Epic Games forever now for the second game. If you ever want to play PCBS 2 you must buy it on Epic Games. It will never be on Steam.

great answer, I appreciate it.
If you own it, would you say its way better than the first game?
I overthink to buy it for my husband, he likes hardware and especially water cooling.

I do not own PCBS 2 because I played the demo and watched some YouTube videos of other people playing the "final release" of the second game. It has quite a lot of game-breaking bugs that make it difficult to almost impossible to complete the career mode sometimes. It seems to of been released early with many bugs and it has a small fraction of the amount of hardware parts in the new game compared to what we have in the first game today.

My suggestion would be perhaps to sit down with your husband and preview a few videos of the new game together on YouTube to see if it's worth the money to you.
ok maybe we should wait or read which bugfixes came out so far. thanks again.

Guess they'll loose out on loads of sales then, this 'exclusive' crap is moronic and anti consumer. Really enjoyed 1 but will pass on 2 unless it comes to Steam.

There's a demo, so you can try it out and see what you think.

Not anymore. The demo for the second game ended before it released. No one can access, install, or play the demo any more today.

You might want to remember that Steam also does exclusivity games. Valve has many games it has released that are exclusive only to Steam and no other storefront.

The demo is still available and playable on epic. Don´t mismatch the "demo" with the "open beta" - the open beta got closed on release day.

I haven't heard of any game actually having a playable demo in many years so I had assumed that you were referring to the beta. Sorry. I was wrong.
i will give the demo a try thanks guys

There is a difference between making a game and wanting it on your own launcher, or funding a game and putting it on your own launcher, vs signing a check to some game that was already funded and was already gonna be on your store to not be on another store. People like steam because it offers enough desirable features to offset the annoyance of having a launcher installed. People don't complain about Battle.net either for example (although they rag on the company constantly, and it is deserved.) because it is decently designed and coded and the exclusive games on there are ones that Activision Blizzard have actually made. If Good old Games started paying devs to lock games to their storefront they would get ♥♥♥♥ too. It doesn't help that despite the billions in investment they still can't manage to get basic e-commerce features into the client let alone the features that people actually like in the more well received game launchers.

Valve has gone so far as to pay VR developers to have their games "not" be exclusive to any one store front in response to Oculus's exclusivity deals. Valve has a lot of issues, but going out of their way to be anti-competitive isn't one of them. I do think them being one of the only privately owned big players in the PC space helps their image as well. It is a lot easier to be moral for 2% less profit growth that year when a dozen shareholders who want to buy their 12th yacht that year aren't breathing down the CEO's neck.

Your comment is mostly irrelevant to this thread and discussion. You might want to take a moment to understand why I wrote my comment and what is actually being discussed here. In the case of the game being discussed in this thread (PC Building Simulator 2) Epic Games made the game and they also have it exclusive to their platform. So therefore when I wrote my comment I was referring to other games made by valve that are also exclusive to Steam.

I was NOT referring to any games made by another group that is exclusive to Epic Games for a time then released elsewhere. That is off topic for this thread and has nothing to do with what we are currently discussing here. That is not the case for PC Building Simulator 2 and has nothing to do with PC Building Simulator 2 or valve or this thread.

Also: Any discussion of battle.net or any other launcher is all off topic too. That also has nothing to do with this topic either.

Yesterday I was started again this game on epic games. When I tried to use compressed air I got BSOD. BSOD directly from the game, so I just deleted this game!

You might want to contact Epic Games support about that. No one here can help you with that issue.
