Are Benchmarks accurate to real life or is it just a simulation?

It's all a simulation. The benchmarks in the game have nothing at all to do with real life.

Actually, the 3DMark benchmark scores and Cinebench benchmark scores, are both based on the real life numbers, as closely as possible, per the devs. They are meant to be simulated accurately to real life.

First off: There is no Cinebench in PCBS 1 and this is the PCBS 1 forums. Secondly: I have access to a lot of hardware in the house that is also in the game. Even if the developers are trying to get it right, none of the hardware in the game is even close to any of the real life version. We can even search the 3dmark.com website for a similar configuration to something we build in the game and nothing will ever match up to the real life version. They can try but they never got it right. So as I wrote above: Yes all 3DMark scores in this game are completely fake / fictional / simulated.

You're correct that they tried to simulate it to be accurate to real life, the best that they could.

For what it's worth, here's the pre-release announcement regarding the collaboration with Futuremark (maker of 3DMark), and the devs' best effort to simulate correct benchmarks:

I understand that they tried and actually did do pretty good at trying to match the 3dmark performance of real life parts. They got rather close sometimes but never actually matching things. In this thread however the OP asked if the scores match real life. And I answered their question correctly: No the scores do not match up to the real life performance of the parts in this game. Very close. But not the same as the real thing.

Thank you guys so much for your critical reply! I actually thought that I could build a PC in the game and it corresponds its performance to real life. Hopefully one day that's a thing. :NekoSad:

It does say "Simulator" right there in the name of the game. Nothing on PC that is any kind of simulator game is ever going to be 1:1 exactly like real life. Not PC Building Simulator and not any other kind of simulator either.
