Can't complete a Customer Job to upgrade CPU
Was live streaming the game last night as I started career mode from the beginning. I had a customer come to me with the task of upgrading their CPU and RAM and they want it completing in 5 days. When I took the PC apart I found the Customer has the AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, the higher spec one of the two available. So now is the problem, I haven't unlocked any higher spec AMD CPUs yet or can't see any in the shop. The only option to upgrade this computer and complete the task is to switch customer to a Intel Motherboard and i7 processor which will cost me significantly more then the $250 the customer is paying me for this job. So how do you complete this job?

You don't, these sorts of jobs are a bug / error and won't be in the game in the future. For now just decline / cancel the job.

Bump - same thing. Very annoying...... Needs sorting. Unless you have a crystal ball, there is no way of telling beforehand whether an upgrade is feasible or not.

Nope! The game will -NEVER- tell you what an upgrade is before you get the tower there. People don't tell you in real life, either if they go to a PC shop and are all "Can you upgrade my computer and make it run faster." That's quite literally one of the challenges of the game and it's designed to be this way. You're supposed to get a tower, look at the chip and figure out an upgrade yourself using the ingame ranking tool and figure it out on your own. This game is super easy already as it is, they're not going to hold your hand through everything.

I don't mind having to open a system up to see whats in it and then work out what upgrade is needed to meet the customer's request. However when the customer brings in a PC with the highest spec component available already fitted and installed and wants an upgrade which is impossible to do as there is no higher spec part then that is a fundamental flaw and bug within the game and it does need to be fixed.

I don't know for sure but I would imagine they will re-tool the jobs list and when certain ones show up later. They're still trying to even add the basic core features to the game and fix bugs with those. Jobs like this and refining the jobs in general will probably get fixed much later.

For now just cancel the job and move on. Or save it until later if there's no time restriction. Or do it at a loss with a faster part if possible for the experience and you're rich in-game.
