PC Building simulator mod support/modding starter pack from devs.
If we would be allowed to mod this game with new parts/programs/operating systems that would be so awesome ! I understand that it probably isn't something to think about right now but it would be awesome to perhaps impliment support for modding in the future ! As far as the "modding starter pack" is concerned the devs would be able to release a mod packet for us that would allow us to get our own functions into the game :) (for instance if someone made 1gb ram sticks, a mod starter pack would allow us to code the parts to be compatible with other PC's from the game already.) Thanks for reading, Plus devs if you see this please reply :) Would love to hear your thoughts on the community being allowed to mod this game :)

Yay! <3 I'd like mods too. Just wanted to make sure the developer sees it in the correct place.

For sure :) I currently mod GTA 5 but if the devs were to support modding early on with this game, the possibilities could be endless ! For instance. Parts, Actual Viruses that effect the PC when trying to clean it. New operating systems written by the community. :) Would be awesome !

Steam games modding is split to two ways of installing. One is that you have to “update” the game, and the second one is to install like add on in mods folder. PCBS actually can be modded by the first method by editing game files: https://imgur.com/gallery/RgnajNF

Guys ask me in PM for an invite for the PCBS unofficial discord server (which was here 2 days before the official one), I am indeed the first modder ever on this game.

Mods are -NOT- supported and we already have the official discord chat, everyone should be using that. People "modding" the game like you are, probably are the same folks figuring out how to "Bypass the heat restrictions" for 3dmark, because you modders seem to think that the in-game 3dmark shouldn't have heat restrictions. Modding games like this (that don't allow it natively) is essentially hacking the game and border-line almost the same as cheating. It's a very crappy thing to do in general. Enjoy the game as it is.

Check the date mate, we've been trying to add new GPUs, changing case skins since day 1.

You may also know, kind sir, that in the files of the game there are templates for mod support which may come in the future. Even with the fact that the relationship between me (and my mod team) and the Devs is difficult, they still implemented some mod support of that kind.

How do you imagine modding parts? You would have more or less then synonymous licenses from the respective manufacturers to bring them into the game. Just because the developer (s) have the licenses does not mean that we, the community, automatically own them. Of course, this does not apply to fictitious new hardware, which would not make the game more realistic. Just a thought-provoking idea.

That is the only reason why official modding support isn't here yet, and the Devs are surely trying to work on that. When someone makes like a Lambo in GTA V they don't always have licensing on, but the brand doesn't put the mod down (shrug)
