I mean yeah part of the main reason to make a sequel is to add new functionality not remove existing things.

I feel like there's a limit to what I can discuss politely on the Steam forum about an Epic title but we'll show players some of the features prior to launch and let them make an educated decision on whether or not they feel it's a worthy sequel and if they should play it.

Being an Epic Exclusive game is one thing. But to Caliburn: Will this only ever be on the Epic store forever? Or will it be released on Steam too after 12 months?

There's no plans for a Steam release as of writing, it's a first party title after all.

Definitely hope I'll still see you around though. I think the game will be a fun and worthy sequel, now it's on us to show players as much.
You won't.
Ye, well, ♥♥♥♥ this. Gonna give my money to someone else then :D
Any time a game/dev goes Epic exclusive, I always blacklist them without hesitation. There are plenty of pro-consumer companies and devs that actually care about their image to give money to.

Well, it's clear that you refuse to use Epic store anyways, so blacklisting a developer that is going to release their games on Epic only for the coming future because they are owned by Epic seems like naturally wouldn't buy anything from them in the future anyways.

This developer does not have a choice in the matter. They did not choose to release on epic willingly. They are *OWNED* by Epic Games. They have to release on the Epic Games platform for all future titles. You blacklisting them because they're owned by Epic is like blacklisting Valve because it's owned by Steam.

Good luck with your game but I'm not going anywhere near Epic Store.

I don't like their attitude towards the PC platform or their policies of buying 3rd party exclusives to force people to buy the games on their store as they can't compete with Steam or anyone else.

Please remove this game from Steam too as you say you are now owned by Epic and can only sell your games on Epic Store from now on.

I'm pretty sure he's aware of that and he's still not wrong to blacklist them, he's a consumer after all and it's his choice to support whoever he wants.

With that said, Epic doesn't care about consumers but Valve does. There's no comparison there.

Now I get it. Irregular Corporation is part of the Mediatonic group, acquired by Epic Games last year. Now all makes sense.

Only for context: Valve acquired Campo Santo in 2018 (Firewatch devs) and Impulsonic in 2017 (3D audio technology company)

Yeah we've been part of Epic for over a year now.

Is it planned to always be an Epic Games exclusive, or will it do like others where it becomes available elsewhere after a year?

They won't be doing that as this game was released before the company was bought by Epic. So it is allowed to be on Steam. But new / future games they release are not allowed on Steam.

They are owned by Epic Games. They can not ever legally release PCBS 2 on Steam even if they wanted to.

Disregard my last question as I saw the answer afterwards, which is unfortunate. I’m not completely opposed to other launchers, the main reason I personally dislike the Epic Games one is it seems to require more computer resources and overall just seems more clunky. They also don’t have a mod workshop which is another con to it. I will indeed follow development to see if it’s worth the headache.

They can if Epic gives permission, I hope they will as they will notice that the game will be far less financially successful without eventual release to Steam.
real shame I won't be playing this.
The trailer looks mostly like the current game after they finally figured out how to add anti-aliasing after all this time
If Epic games owns the IP, they have every right to make the sequel a first party game that is exclusive to their store front only. With that said, PC Building Simulator has, (or should I say had) a lot of fans on Steam, and not giving them a Steam release will only cause harm to this franchise. With that said, I would have loved to play the sequel, but it isn't going to happen now that it is releasing on Epic. I guess this is farewell to the PBS Franchise. Who knows, maybe one mission has you building a PC while a storm closes in, and your character can do a fun little pop culture dance when they succeed.
