Why can't I build an SFX PSU into a SFF case?
Also almost all 240 AIOs won't fit in that case even if they are supported because I have to use an ATX PSU

If they don't fit, they're not "supported". Don't expect everything (or rather anything) to be like in real life.

An update for you AlphaDango: I researched it and in real life this computer case does NOT support SFX power supplies in real life. It only supports ATX power supplies. So this is not a bug and that is correct how the game has it.

It does support SFX and ATX PSUs. I have that Case myself

Like Aqua, I went to the Ophion Evo webpage. The published specification is for the ATX power supply. There is no mention of the SFX series. The PCBS developers, like all developers must comform to published specifications. I suspect their contract with Raijintek, as with all their contracts, would not permit them to alter any specs.

Sometimes real life is better than simulator life :-)

As db.mcdonald reported: According to Raijintek NO that case DOES NOT support SFX power supplies. It's great that you may have some how figured out how to make it work. But the official spec per Raijintek is ATX only for that case. It's right there on the Raijintek website.

I did not figured "somehow" out hot to install a SFX PSU. The case literally has a bracket that I need to remove if I would want to install an ATX PSU.

That does not change the fact that Raijintek is stating ATX only for that computer case per their specifications. So that's why this case does not support SFX power supplies in the game: Officially it does not support it in real life either. This is not a bug and the developers will not change this.

In AlphaDango's defence, I have to admit, the ATX limitation does limit the number of compatible AIO coolers, due to the size of the ATX power supplies. In Freebuild, only 140mm
ATX power supplies would fit. This is a fairly large PS for Ophion Evo case. Consequently, I could only find 2 AIO 240mm coolers that would fit,

Once again, Freebuild saves the day when trying to determine parts and case compatability.

If you try putting the side panel back on, you'll see those two 240mm don't fit either.

Why bother putting all the dev time into all of the potential hose routings in this case when literally only one 120mm AIO fits in the case with a PSU.

The only problem is the hose clearances with the 140mm ATX PSU, or this case not supporting a SFX PSU like it does IRL. If everything in life went by the spec sheet then I'd imagine there'd be a lot more typos walking around.

Ophion Evo
MSI MEG Z490i Unify
Intel i9-10900K
Adata XPG Core Reactor 850W
G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8/4800 x2 oc'd to 5000 MHz
MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio <-- selected for max width in case
Adata XPG Spectrix S40G RGB M.2 1TB
MSI Coreliquid 240R

Case fully assembled and operational

3D Mark 11306
GPU 10727
CPU 16288
Power consumption 511 Watts
CPU @ 90 C
GPU @ 93 C oc'd to 2070 MHz

Sorry, everything works.
For a quick and dirty install, not a bad 3D Mark :-)

I was able to fit the EVGA CLC 240 and have it fit all the way until closing the case and assumed the MSI 240R would have the same problem.

So there is literally only two 120mm AIO's and one 240mm out of the dozens in the game that fit this case because of a mistake with the PSU compatibility, given that if you remove the PSU they all fit.

It seems that you didn't read this thread at all before replying so I'll need to repeat for you what was written previously: There is no mistake. The power supply for this case being ATX only is correct. The way it is in the game is correct and this is not a bug and that is how it should be. The developers also will not change this because there is nothing wrong with how they have it right now in the game. This is how the manufacturer specifies that it should be so this is how it is.

Not trying to get into the fray with this argument about official specifications. But in the name of fun, I think it would be great to add SFX-ATX PSU adapters into the game so you could choose to put an SFX power supply into any build you choose. I ran into a similar problem with the Raijintek Metis, which is something like a 15L case. My son put a Corsair SF600 into this case IRL—which ships with a PSU adapter, btw—and was able to fit a 5700XT and a CM Hyper 212. The fun of SFF is building these powerful systems with bigger GPUs into unusual spaces. This is possible thanks to SFX power supplies.

SFX-ATX brackets would be a great thing for a bunch of cases, not just these two.

Unfortunately it seems (from what I have seen of the game so far) that part of the developers featuring real life products in the game means they only allow parts into computer cases that the real life version allows. I know we ourselves could put brackets in and put anything in any case but that would just confuse people that don't know much about computers in to thinking ATX cases would accept SFX power supplies. I think the developers probably would not be adding that to the game myself.

Yeah, I understood what you were saying, just putting the feature request out there, because I think PSU brackets would be a helpful addition for people testing out builds and add to the realism. PS. I also think a great feature update would be dB ratings for fans and builds, along with missions that require low-noise. Just suggestions, ha, they can ignore!
