You mean the orange outline to connect the fan to the motherboard for the heatsink?

Then hold mouse down and click on it then click on the motherboard and connect it?

I don't mean offense here but you should really go through the tutorial in game before trying to build things I think.

Are you using the auto-connect tool? Because sometimes that screws up things. Try unplugging other things first (case fans, video card power) and connect cpu fan first.

We don't even know if the problem is solved yet. Haven't heard back from OP here.

Maybe you forgot to close the CPU thingie.

Did you apply thermal paste after closing the cpu holder?

You can put the heatsink on with or without thermal paste. You can even put the heatsink on without a CPU installed. I think it's probably the latch/lever for the CPU.

OP claims that the dad has 42 hours in. It would be really funny if it only because he forgot the CPU clamp.

No shame in forgetting the CPU clamp, I do that sometimes because the graphics on this game are extremely muggy unless you zoom in.

OMG the CPU handle is really hard to see on a Steam Deck. It’s a little green dot on the screen. I closed it, and that resolved the issue but it was not obvious that the handle didn’t auto-close on this AMD motherboard. In the LGA models, it’s a cover. Fairly obvious.

Just so you know: This game is not designed for the steam deck / Linux. This is a windows game. So it's probably not going to look right at all when played on that system. The developers probably aren't going to fix that either. If you continue playing it on the steam deck then that's just something you're going to have to cope with.
