Why don't cpu coolers show up in PC Parts
Title says it all. Any reason why cpu coolers don't show up with other customer parts when you take a pc apart?

Some jobs the cooler is tied to the customer, and some jobs it is not. It depends on which job you are doing at the time.

I wish they would fix this. It’s the only part that behaves this way and it’s done this for quite awhile now.

When a computer is taken apart, the CPU cooler needs to always show up with a customer tag, just like other parts do. 99% of the time it appears as the last item in your inventory list for cpu coolers. Hopefully this will change with an update.

It is as stated by Aquafawks sometimes tied to the customer and sometimes not, it depends on the job you are doing.

If there is no sticker on the cooler, it means you are allowed to swap it for another cooler if needed, fx. CPU upgrades or OC tasks, where you may need to upgrade the cooler for a better. Then it would be a problem if the cooler had a sticker on it, you could not swap it if you wanted to, I personally think it works as intended and I do not see there is a problem.

I've put other used coolers on the cpu and the cost of the job has gone up. Where I am at a fixed budget for the repair, and I've met it, this does not work. It has to be the cooler I took off or it's a higher cost.

That is correct, it has to be the same you took off or you will be charged, like you would with any other part, so if you do not use the same cooler, you have to make room for it in the budget, but typically the cooling installed and you swap for the same type of processor, you do not need to upgrade the cooling, but you are ALLOWED to, if the cooling is insufficient in the first place, I have not personally encountered this yet.

EDIT: I do not say that you and others are not allowed to think it needs to be changed, I am just saying, that I think it works as intended.

I agree I think it works as intended. However it would be nice to have it tagged somehow to let you know that’s the one that came off that machine however you can change it. I know that doesn’t exist in game currently but it would be a very nice addition in my opinion. ToTh3 you are absolutely correct though and it would be very irritating to not be able to change it to improve the clock.

Edit: I’m not sure I’ve ever needed to change it but it’s nice to have the option I guess.

I do agree it would be a nice feature, but more in line with the feature already requested, where you could tag parts yourself that are meant to go in a specific system by you. I think the original idea was when you were shopping for parts for the customers.
