Unable to get 5 stars for this job!
Hi there, I had received this job quite long ago (in game) and decided to wait out until 1080Ti GPU is unlocked in my career mode. The problem is, I had followed everything it requested yet I kept getting only 4 stars for this particular job.

Job requirements:
1) 3DMark Score of 7752
2) OC CPU to 4000MHz
3) OC GPU to 2133MHz
4) Worry about used parts

Image for the particular job[imgur.com]

PC built with specs as below:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 4GB 3000MHz
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080Ti GAMING
Motherboard: GA-AB350-Gaming 3
CPU cooler: Cryorig M9a
PSU: Shean Powerking 600
Storage: ADATA Ultimate SU650 120GB
Fans: 2 x Mortoni Heat Away 120
Case: CORSAIR Carbide Series 275R (Black)

Things that I had done:
1) Achieved all overclock for CPU and GPU, obtained 3DMark score of 9442.
2) Checked EVERY components (including fans) if it was used (which is not)
3) Purposely bought a new case for this (thought that the initial PC case was "used" but it's not too)
4) Checked if I was over budget (Job given a budget of $1,602 where I had only spent $1,550)

Is it a bug or something? Anyone care to point it out to me? Or am I missing something here?

P.S: Also, is it possible that even though there is no time limit for the job, but since the email stated "I really need this done quickly.", and my game's date is already 9th of July but I accepted the job on 11th June so it's like too long? LMAO just a thought please halp guys

You have your answer...
I need this done quickly means 2-3 days max. That's a side requirement

Usually IRL when someone asks you fro something done quickly in a shop, it means.... for yesterday lol

So no bug = 4 stars for beeing too slow

That beeing said, it's one of those very tight job I tend to refuse, not because it's not achievable, but all the conditions put together, low budget for a decent benchmark score, a decently high OC for a GPU with a score needed, no used parts... And requested to be quick...
Too much trouble imo to accept, so I tend to not even bother at all trying. because for that budget you are on that fringe of RNG luck and silicon lottery.

Same job allowing used parts I take everyday

Have you gotten to the level where you can send a mob enforcer named Vito over to customers who give less than 5 star ratings? All of my customers know of him and every one of them give 5 stars regardless of the quality of work.

I had a similar problem, and the solution was to remove a few case fans, I installed as extra, because I was still way inside budget...

I have a team of brothers called Luigi and Mario, both work officially as plumbers, but when the customer is late with his payment I send them over to 'collect' the debts or do some creative rearrangements in the customer's store. :steammocking:

Certain CPU's and GPU's have higher frequencies. There is a particular MSI 1060 (MSI GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING 3G, this exact model) that allows you to at least overclock to 2202mhz with even the worst silicon lottery and gets an average max clock of 2338mhz. By the time you get to the level needed for overclocking jobs you can buy at least one AMD CPU that comes with a base 4000mhz frequency, on some jobs you can just drop that CPU in and not have to touch it if you're lucky. There are a few Intels that go over 4500mhz stock clock, think the 8700k is 4700mhz as-is.

Here is a guide that links you to a spreadsheet with the details for GPU clocks:

It seems like you did the OC objective though, so you must have missed a minor detail like cable color, date, budget, something. This is why I save before doing batches of jobs, save when I get the work done and have them lined up ready to go in the hallway, then turn them all in at once and if anything is wrong I load and look at the particular culprit. If I made a mistake in my large order (I do bulk orders to save on shipping costs for 3 or more jobs) then I'd have to load the save before I accepted the jobs in the first place. Sometimes you get a job that is bugged like a certain part needing to be OC'd beyond it's average silicon lottery capacity. Gotta load and reject those.

It appears you forgot to read the dates on the thread when you were replying to it. The original posts (and all posts above yours) were from march 2019, which is almost a whole 2 years ago. They might not be playing the game any more. They might not even be alive today (with how 2020 went). Why did you dig this up to reply to? On top of that this thread was already answered by BonPadre in 2019: 4 stars because they were too slow in completing it. There's nothing else to add to this thread.

Thanks for the concern and reply mate, I'm doing fine and well, but I had stopped playing this game (the grinding is too much at the time of playing 2019) and forgot to mark the answer provided by BonPadre. Thanks anyway!

Hey there! It's awesome that you managed to live through 2020. :steamhappy:

If sigursyunas had not replied to this thread I would have never found that great comment from Comfortably_Numb:

which I graced with an award. :steamhappy:
