Okay, I've been trying so many times now to get my ram to get into the slots. It says it's "incompatible" and yes I've opened the clips. I removed 2 GB ram stick and added a 4 GB ram stick. I really don't understand why it won't work. I can't do 2 GB of ram in each slot because it would only get me to 8 GB. Thank you to anybody who responds!

The you're not installing the same thing. For instance 4 sticks or Mortoni Value Supreme 4 GB 2133 MHz would work. Or you could go with 2 sticks of Shean Titan XL 8 GB 2133 MHz. You can't use T-Force DARK mixed with Mortoni or Shean for instance. You also can't use 2 sticks of 4 GB 2400 MHz DARK with 1 8 GB 2666 MHz stick. It all has to match. What are you trying to install?

You can only install RAM that matches. Same manufacturer, same model, same capacity, same speed. The only thing that can differ is the color if applicable. What are you trying to install?

So it's this granddaughter that is getting a pc for her birthday. She only had 2 GB of ram and she need 16 GB of ram. There are 4 slots and it starts you out with 1 2GB of ram stick. Can you figure out the answer so I can do it? Also, thanks for the reply

Well it's pretty straight forward really
4 x 4 = 16
or
8 x 2 = 16
or
16 x 1 = 16
