Used cases?

Just wondering if cases I get off PC Bay are considered "Used Parts"? Maybe if I change out the case fans that are labeled "used" I can pass off the case as new? There's no way to check in game that I know of if a case is used or not.

That's why all empty cases in my inventory all comes from PCBay, I never order and stockpile new cases for that reason of not knowing the difference between both.

That beeing said, I never indeed had your idea to swap only the fans....
Will try that on a job that specify "no used parts" and see. I may have in a few day an empty case incoming from PCBay

i remember in a early job i was penalized for having a "used part" then i went back and used a completly different cause that i bought from the PC store and it gave me 5 starts....turns out it was a used case apparently

Nah... I just ran into it lol... it's very very rare that my USED cases from PCBay are the same type I usually buy, and here I got 2 exact same cases, one from PCBay and one new, and I had NO WAY to differentiate them, sice it was the DEEPCOOL MATREXX 55 and this case comes without any fans.

All fans new, all new parts and result is... case counts as used parts.
Just have strip it down and to rebuild into the other case... *sigh*

A used case used in a job will show the 1/3 cost in the budget tab.

A new case used in a job will show the full value in the budget tab.

But, yeah, even a new case will often show as the used 1/3 value when you look at it, unless when used in a job as I mentioned above.

Now I have pc bay unlocked I never buy cases from the store unless they are for someone wanting a new build with new parts - that way I know that all the ones in the cupboard are used.

Other than for a build order you wouldn't really want to build a PC from new parts (eg new case) anyway as you only recoup the used value if you sell it on pc bay, so there's not really any reason to get new ones unless for an order.
