4800 3D-mark for under 1000$
The order is from a woman who wants computers for her science. I spent a lot of money on possible solutions and realized that I would be forced to overclock, but even with the overclocking I only got about 4330. I switched over to Free Build to test multiple possibilities, but had to give it up.

Suggestions? If you have solutions; please provide with a complete list of components, and if possible an overclock specification.

I put my faith in this forum, please do not let me down.

Case: cheapest is fine
PSU: Shean 350w or better
Storage: Mortoni 120GB
CPU Cooler: cheapest is fine

total ~$100-150 out of $175 remaining

EDIT: You could use cheaper RAM (smaller capacity or different brand) but make sure the speed is at least 3200 or 2666 depending on the choice of CPU

though, for this very example, it was a bit tricky, since I had to insert a value higher than 1000$, but when I saw results I kew I could build for under 1000$

Also, this mail NEVER told you NOT to use USED PARTS.
In some cases, used parts could have been your friend.

Very useful tool (that's how I got those 2 builds originally). But the thing is it allocates way too much for the common parts (especially for these low budget builds) by default so all you need to do is put something like 100 to 150 in the budget of other parts box.

Indeed, but when I see that for GPU + CPU I have a budget left of ~400$ I know it can be done.
As long as you pile up the cheapest parts (10$ for CPU cooler, 20$ for HDD, 40$ for case, 100$ for MOBO, max 50$ for PSU) I know from a quick glance I have around 170$ for RAM.

But ofc that comes with a "little" practice of PCBS ;-)
