It is stupid to restart after installing a new program
This is really stupid ... should be changed.

How would you know? You don't even own the game.

Lots of programs still require you to restart the PC after installing them. Granted, it's not as prevelant as it used to be, but it still happens.

Key is to install all the ones you want to use and then restart only once. However, I do agree that the consistent restart is annoying when it comes to installing ANYTHING.
PCBS does kinda remind me of Windows 98. Install DirectX, reboot. Install video card drivers, reboot. Install game, reboot. Install netscape navigator, reboot. Install FTP program, reboot. Open notepad and then later close it, oops need another reboot, you did something to the computer, better reboot it.

It made me reminisce about Windows 98 also. You couldn't change anything in that OS without a reboot.

To OP: reboots take almost no time, and you can click "No" and keep installing stuff, then reboot once for the whole lot. It's really not that big a deal IMHO.

No, I like the mechanic. Let's keep it.

Its easier once you get to the point putting in ssd's alot.

Things load fairly fast.
I kinda like that mechanic.

Yeah put M2 drives in there and it's gonna boot up 4x faster than HDD.

I don't mind to restart it after installing everything but the pop up is kinda annoying. Why not implement the famous "Ask me later" button.

I think that if should give you an option to not reboot but if you chose to not reboot there is a chance that the program doesn't work properly and needs a reboot to fix.
Turbo Feb 4, 2019 @ 12:16pm
I mean, you don't have to reboot after every program install. You can just install all the programs you need and then reboot one single time after installing the final program.

How about having the ability to make an auto install script for a usb so it can push a preselected group of apps onto the pc and reboot after finishing. Maybe also a cleanup script to remove apps after they are done being used so the customer's pc doesn't get bloated with unneeded apps.

That's way too advanced for most PCBS players. Most PCBS players can't even figure out how to rotate the computers when working on them or how to stick the usb thing in the usb ports.

I'm not suggesting an actual script which requires learning to code (sigh). All you'd need is something to setup the script which could be as simple as a list of apps with checkboxes to indicate if they are to be installed/removed. Then the usb would get a new icon for the install script and another for the remove script.
