Cannot figure out this campaign mission . . .
Simple diagnose and fix. Busted PSU, so I replace it with the same make and model. One star because I didn't run 3DMark.

Reload.

Run 3DMark to a BSOD - "Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed." A quick google search returns suggestions to increase voltage or decrease clock. Went into BIOS and reset to factory settings (didn't see any GPU specific options). Installed a heartier PSU. Still nothing.

Also as Jackthedragonkiller suggest, if the build is a DUAL GPU build, with 2 different GPU's, there are somegtimes a synchronization issue, and you need to OC it (with GPU tuner) even by just 1% in order to sync them.

If it was a GPU overclocking error, install the program that allows GPU overclocking (can't remember the name) and there you can reset the GPU clock to factory. The BIOS overclock menu I'm pretty sure is only for the CPU.

EDIT: Though I don't do OC missions because I'm absolutely horrible at overclocking, both in-game and IRL. That's also why I don't overclock my parts IRL. Fear of messing stuff up.

Don't search google for blue screen issues to find the answer for this game, you'll only find answers for blue screens for real life computers, which won't apply at all to this game.

Instead refer to this for PCBS game:

I had the same job. Sadly, it happened mid-way through lv11 in my career mode and you can't get the GPU tuner tool until lv13. The built-in time limit wasn't enough for me to level in time and had to eat the 1 star review.

I reported it as a bug.

That's why you should always save before accepting jobs, it takes literally 5 secs.

Another thing to try, when you have this problem (BSOD regarding GPU Voltage when dual-GPUs are in the system) ... is to try to swap the GPU slots. That way, it might use the lower clock for both GPUs, and not have the BSOD problem.

I've never seen the game ever clock-match cards on mismatched cards on it's own. We always have to do it manually.

It just happened to me. Mission's objective was to replace CPU and one of 2 GPU. In the end i replaced the broken parts and removed the working GPU. Collected the pay and got 5 stars while i basically stolen the GPU.

I don't know if missions are created dynamically, anyway in my case it was commissioned by:

date: 3/1/2018
subject: Need repairs!
labour: $217
budget: $1100
req: 4 stars & lvl 7

Just had this happen to me too. GPU overclock error, but only level 11 so I don't have access to the software to fix it.

If it does not have a required star rating then that means it is a story job. If it is then you could just keep that computer and job forever and turn it in later once you get access to the software. If it does have a required star rating then it's a random job. In that case you have to complete it by it's due date. If it has a due date that is. If it does have a due date then you have no choice but to decline the job as you can't complete it. If it is a random job and there is no due date you can keep it forever and turn it in later.

Good to know, thanks.

Still, it's frustrating because it's a diagnose and fix job, so there's no way I could have known to avoid it. Bug or bad design, either way, it's really annoying.

This is why I have tried to tell everyone I find to get into a habit of creating manual saves OFTEN. That is our only defense to this game's bugs like this. If you had a manual save you could just go back to load the manual save from before accepting the job and decline it without effecting your star rating.
