Subworks $350 Computer
I'm stuck on trying to build a $350 computer for Subworks. I managed to get down to $469. It allows the use of used components, but only 3 days. I could do it if the game allowed the use of integrated graphics, but since it doesn't, I don't know what to do.

What level are you currently in-game? I can give you some suggestions but I need to know what level you are so I can know what you have unlocked access to parts wise.

And is there a target goal in the customer request? Do they want it to play a specific game? Do they need it to meet a specific target 3dmark score?

I'm level 26. The only objectives are to spend less than $350 (I believe it's actually $350 or less, but it says less than) and that it be done within 3 days. It is a story mission.

@Nehyo Yeah I know I can use used parts, but I can't really get more in 2 days (have to deliver on the 3rd day) and the used parts I have only got me down to $469.

I have a used 4GB 2666MHz memory stick and a used $53 graphics card.

If it is a story mission then it's been confirmed by BonPadre that you can totally go as far over budget as you want to on story missions with no penalty and no star penalty.

EDIT: If you can use used parts then just do that and you should easily end up well under the budget.

Normally I can go over budget without penalty, but in this case it won't even allow me to turn it in since the objective is red :( The button says "Go to PC" instead of "Collect".

I already explained that I don't have the necessary used parts available.

This is sounding to me like this is a RNG job then. If it was a story job then: 1.) It wouldn't have a turn in date. You can keep story jobs in your email forever and complete them later. 2.) It would let you go over budget.

Yes story jobs let you go over budget but only in case it is not listed as a requirement.

The cheapest PC I was able to build with all new parts costs less than 350$ so I do not really understand where is the problem.

Not to mention you can also strip case fans from your case and it will be even cheaper.

Ah, I see. I was trying to use my used memory, but it's actually still more expensive than the new memory you chose. I did have the same CPU and motherboard. Thanks for the list. That helped a ton.

I guess you already have your answer, but honnestly at lvl26, you should crawl under a lot of useless cheap used CPU's and cheap used GPU from early game. How come you don't have any of those ? as many jobs refrain you from using used parts, and there are no financial incentive to use them in jobs ?

You should keep a stock in case of that, but I guess you got the story mission requesting the cheapest build of all the story jobs. So I believe it will matter less from now on, if it was the second time you had to build her this cheap PC.

But even without used parts you should do that 350$-build even on lv1.

Never had one quite that low. (shrug)
I got this same task, 350 budget as only objective. At first I kept hitting the 400$ using coffee lake boards and it was just not cutting it with the cheapest everything else. The H170 and G3930 was the trick as it saved enough cash that i was even able to add an extra 2gb ram stick, and an extra HD.

Had $44 to spare.

In total parts I used were:
Case: Silverstone PS14
Mobo: Mortoni H170 Mtech
CPU: Celeron G3930
GPU: Geforce GT 1030 SC
CPU Cooling: Deepcool Gammaxx 400
PSU: Powerking 250
RAM: Mortoni Value Supreme 2GB (x2)
HD: Mortoni Ezstore 120GB (x2)
