It says broken parts... But there is nothing broken
Hey guys i just bought a "broken PC" from pcbay to fix and sell.

The CPU was broken, so i changed it, but it keeps saying "broken parts" even though it runs 3dmark and it has no viruses. I took every single component appart to check if they were broken, even PCI covers out of frustration. Every single one of them is ok, nothing is broken.

Until i plug every cable it says "missing parts", then it changes to "broken parts"

What am I missing? Can the case itself be broken or something?
Thanks in advance

The chassis (Case) could be broken. That's possible.

Is there any way to check it without putting all components on another case?

you just look at what is labelled as 2 - 4$
A case (even used) @ that price is broken.

Btw, it's not a fun way, but basically you just look at the component list and you'll spot straight away the broken one this way.

yep, the case was broken indeed. Didn't know cases could be broken.

btw... how do i get rid of it now? All i can do is put it at the door or in the closet, i don't know how to sell it lmao

you sell it empty and broken at PCBay and you'll get 2-4$ for it.
Only way to get rid of them currently.

Btw, broken cases are only on bought used PC on PCBay, so don't look at that in case you struggle on a customer job.

I dont see any options to sell it since it doesnt go in the inventory. I know how to sell components, but inside the closrt i can only pick it up and i don't see the option.
I've tried putting it next to the door and on the workbench and i don't see it

I'm sure i have it in front of my eyes and i don't see it lol

i read that. Just there is no option to sell from pcbay. In the sell tab i only see what i have selling, there's no button to sell things

I haven't done it myself but I have seen other people selling broken cases on PCBay in other forum threads. So it is possible, some how.

just put a sticky "pcbay" note on it like you are selling a working computer on pc bay

And btw, if you don't have the PCBay selling stickers (white) on the left of your workplace, it's because you probably used an external program to get things done faster.

omg, i'm dumb as a truck. I thought that pcbay post-it thingy was just a prop, didnt realize it was for selling stuff.
Thank you guys very much for the info

btw what do you mean by programs to get things done faster? The only external thing i use is an excel sheet

Some players using cheat engines and "trainer" to get levels do not have those stickies.
:steamhappy:
Spreadsheets are leggit no worries XD

I was hoping you'd say there was a way to make 3dmark run faster or something, it's getting annoying that 9 out of 10 missions are just "reach XXXX 3dmark score"

3DMark has already been halved from the original run time when PCBS first came out. And it's already about 1/8'th or 1/16'th the time it takes to run a full 3dmark pass in real life in the real program. But.. for some people that's (apparently) still not fast enough.
