Big upgrades, small budgets?
So... Often I'm getting these jobs where people want to score big time in 3dmark, like 3300 pts but hand me in junky pcs that barely hits the 1100. With the amount they want to spend I can't even update the graphics, and of course, if I spend over the budget with new parts they go mad... Quitting doesn't help my rating either, how do I get by?

It happens more in the early game. Check their hardware and decide if you can do it before you accept the job. You don't lose anything for rejecting a job, only if you accept and reject it later.

You can get big performance upgrades by upgrading the CPU if it’s bottlenecking the graphics. Honestly I’ve only had to reject one or two of these jobs even before unlocking overclocking. They can be difficult but they are definitely doable within the budget you’re given.

The HTML calculator is invaluable in this regard. It will tell you all the combinations of parts that will meet the score. See this thread.

Install used video cards and remember to overclock all their parts for free performance. It's not difficult.

Yeah some are ridiculous! Wanting some enormous PC Mark score yet a small budget and the motherboard doesn't even support SLI or CrossFire whichever they may benefit from. Also sometimes you can get away from going a little over the budget like $5 and still get the 5 stars but other times I went $5 over they gave me 1 star, instant rage at a tiny bit over. We should have the choice to just comp their over-budget, especially if it's just a few bucks wow, I give the customer 1 star too.

Ive had a few ridiculous orders myself. Such as wanting an I5 overclocked from 3.2 to 4.0 with a 250 budget

It's a good thing then that overclocking doesn't cost any money. Sounds like an easy job to me. Free money.
