Energy Bill Difference
In the BIOS settings, you can get RAM OC and CPU OC. In those options you can change the voltage. This brings up a question for me: If you turn down the voltage for these things, will your energy bill be lower?

Energy bill doesn't matter. I'm only level 12 and already have $8000 in-game and nothing to spend it on. I'd prefer the bill to end up being -MORE-, like $1500/month or $2k. At least I'd have something to spend money on.

No no. Just no.
btw I'm not paying rent nor bills. :)
Bills keep coming but I'm not gonna pay.

At some point you have to or career ends and you can't play any further. And why not? There's literally -NOTHING- else in the game to spend money on.

Espresso machine, I would spend money on that for that office. Too bad it would be a copyright infringement (I think) to be able to buy a TV and set it to playing movies or youtube videos while you walk around the office. I sometimes use the music player on the computers, but not often and it would be amusing to have videos playing. Maybe also an option for lighting changes or window views outside.

But back to the OP, I say go for the test, no matter how goofy this is. Take your work computer in the game, keep it running for a month without turning it off. Even if this means just skipping ahead day after day without doing any jobs (depending on where you're at in the game you might have $20k anyway). And then at the end of the month see what the utility bill is. Then do a voltage change, doesn't matter if it's higher or lower. Do that for a month. And then see if there's a noticeable change :P A superfluous test, but amusing all the same.

And important note, either keep the lights always on or always off, control that variable. :)

I did the test and it turns out that it does make a difference. For the first part, I made a new save and went into my BIOS for the work computer and turned the RAM voltage to the maximum. I left the computer running always, and left the light on. My electricity bill was $96. I then made another new save, and then I then tried always leaving my computer off and the light off, and my result was $48.

So it turns out that saving power actually does make a difference.

While that may be true, the bigger problem is no one actually cares. By level 10 you should have $5000 or more spare at all times. The power bill is typically $300 - $400, it's so trivial that it's pointless to even have in the game.

I'm probably going to go in my career mode and spend like $3000 and just build a 8700K and over volt it as far as it will go stable and over-volt everything that will over volt, 6 hard drives, 4 SSD's, all the ram, 2 video cards, and leave it and the lights on at all times and do everything I can to use as much power as possible. At least it'll be something to spend money on.

Well that part I already knew regarding leaving the computer on or off. I think today if I get the chance I'm going to try two different months;

1 with lights always on and a computer set at stock clocks
2 with lights always on and the same computer OC'd as much as possible.
