Will cheat engine get me banned?

I want to know, if I use cheat engine to increase my money (my savegame broke and I want to recover), will I get banned?

Also false.

VAC bans are only on games that are VAC enabled. Which is... barely 100 games?

Discussing "Cheating" in general is a violation of steam community guidelines for the forums. Just by creating and running this topic you can be banned from steam globally (your entire steam account). So yes, you can get banned for it. You should probably delete this entire thread while you still can before someone reports you for it.

I have never once seen a person get banned for making a topic about cheat engine and even I've discussed it in various topics, on various forums throughout the Steam Community.

Also, if Valve literally bans an entire account to where people lose access to games, I'm willing to bet there will be massive outrage that Valve would literally be stealing money at that point from people who have paid for their games and a class action lawsuit can be potentially filed.

Since you apparently do not understand how steam forums works, I thought I would take a few moments and explain it to you. Not trying to backseat moderate or anything here, but, just inform you of how things work around here. You see there are two moderator tiers in steam forums. The "Local" moderators (In this case the PC Building Simulator) forum moderators that manage this forums here. Then above them are the Steam Global Moderators. There are a core set of rules and guidelines that everyone using steam forums, and posting anywhere, in any game on steam, we all must follow and abide by them.

The specific section that pertains to the current thread is under "Content Rules" where it says "Do not post any content on Steam containing the following:", Specifically where it states "Cheating, hacking, game exploits".

This thread both discussing and advocating cheating, falls under that and the original poster above, could have their entire steam account banned for even discussing it, per the steam forum guidelines. But only if someone reports it and brings it to the attention of the Steam Global Moderators.

Now that you understand how steam works, you might also understand why I was trying to help the above user avoid a steam global ban, which is not fun.

I have never done any such thing. I would appreciate you not making up things that do not exist.

I have done nothing but attempt to help other folks the best I know how. Such as trying to help someone avoid being banned.

The two users "Humphrey the Chinese Assassin" and "keltoN" may have just clicked the steam discussions, went posting and actually either (or both) never read the guidelines, or possibly may not even know they actually exist and may actually not know that discussing such things can get them banned. I just thought I would try and be nice, and point it out to them so that they could read and know about it, that's all. It's not "Backseat moderating" or any such nonsense to inform someone of something they didn't know.

Context also matters here, unless that is just a blanket rule. I'd venture a guess what cheats they're referring to are ones typically used in multiplayer titles, and not in singleplayer ones, given the fact cheats made for SP games like Cheat Engine, trainers, and cheat tables for CE are meant for games that the only harm brought forth are to the one player and no-one else.

first off, he's not breaking the rules, he's just asking a question that if he was to use cheat engine would it get him banned, he is not providing links to cheats/hacks or the like.

2ndly you are breaking the rules via the link you sent,
