The amount of money this guy pays doesn't even remotely cover the cost of the graphics card he needs...

Exactly. Stuck on the same one, and can't even quit the job.. Can't even find the Graphic card that is recommended (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980). :/

Hmm... I ordered the graphics card ok. You have to be level 3, so you can't have canceled any of the previous missions.

Skipped 1 mission, as it came up with an error on 3dmark. Was close to level 4.

Dunno then. I ordered a GTX 980, installed it, and completed the mission, but of course lost money.

Yeh same here. I forked out $350 for a new GPU and received only $90 as payment. Ouch.

Luckily I'm in the black and can carry on with the game but hopefully that's the only example of jobs which lose money otherwise I'll be broke soon !

Just don't get anybody who wants a new GPU for an old 970 or 960 a 1050 or 1050Ti since the 900 series is better than the 1050 series.

It's not the only mission that asks you to spend more money than you earn....

Yeh I've just found this out. I'm now not accepting any jobs where the cost of parts is more than the payment - there seems to be a few of these about.

If this is intended by the developer then props to them - part and parcel of running a business. If it's not intended then hopefully this will get patched soon.

Not all jobs are going to be profitable. These are suppost to be people e-mailing you for what they want. Its your job to determine if it will be worth your time or not. What kind of herp derp game would it be if every job was profitable whats the point of even having the money then. It would just be a pc building sim. Use your damn brains people.

There has to be a way to lose and you have found it.
Trifler Mar 28, 2018 @ 5:18am
I have to check out the PC-Bay (E-Bay clone) to see if these things are profitable that way.

You don't know what specs the PC needs nor what their PC has until you accept the job. This really isn't about "using your brains", its about needing an option to tell the customer that they will either need to pay for upgrades or just send their computer back.
Trifler Mar 28, 2018 @ 1:58pm
There's also the fact that in reality the customer doesn't tell you what they're paying in advance. You might tell them how much you'll charge for labor, but they pay whatever the graphics card costs on top of that.
