AMD Ryzen CPU upgrade quest
What is the next upgrade from the Ryzen 5 Quad Core 1500X?
Completely stuck
DO I have to upgrade the motherboard and CPU to Intel?

A Ryzen 5 1600 is the next logical step up. Not sure if that is in the game though..

Otherwise, continue on with an Intel i3. And it will need a different motherboard, as the socket in which the CPU is placed, is different for both processors.

thats where I am stuck - that is the best chip for the AM4 slot

Might just convert it to Intel

Keep in mind that completing jobs also unlocks new parts. So unless all parts are unlocked already, and assuming there is no deadline date, you could just put it back in the hallway and wait for better parts to unlock.

It would be a shame if you spend a lot of money on a new motherboard and CPU, if the customer did not pay enough for such an elaborate upgrade.

very true

TO THE HALLWAY!!!!

You cant upgrade something that belongs to costumer, you got to keep that item. You can only upgrade what it says, a sticky note is labelled for the pc items that you need to put back. Unless its related to the upgrade. Just maybe they adding a overclock software to the game. But If I remember rightly you can only do that through Bios, as it need more voltage to the cpu.

Logically the next upgrade from any ryzen quad core is any ryzen 6 core.... it's quite simple really.

Yeah but you not highest enough level for that. so what do you do ?
I think you need to be lvl 7 for that, when Im on lvl 6
The request for that cpu upgrade is out of sync to what you cant do.
with only $180 collect, I dont think so. Until you get the pc you dont know the upgrade.

In my case of upgrading components, you can save money in-game with the Ryzen 5 1600 or 1600X. No need for a motherboard replacement. I would do that in real life too. Unless you want to switch to an Intel build like @SlyMercenary said.

Well you can always upgrade another machine with the old one any way to cut the cost. I take it thats what you talking about. well with the Amd Rysen 5 1500x is $190, not sure on the next upgrade in game, as I havent reached to lvl 7 yet. the Job is only worth $180 to upgrade from a Rysen 5 1500x to 1600. hmmm
Properly go back and reject that request for now.
Like I said is out of sync to the jobs you get to what lvl you are on.
As you can only have 3 jobs on the go at one time, this is cost effective in game.
Maybe I was wondering if they was thinking of doing overclocking in game, through bios. That would be awesome and maybe water cooling added too. As a pc upgrader myself, I notice that if you overclocking and use water cooling, you need to replace water coolers every 2-3 years. I had to replace mine last year, I have a Corsair H100i GTX cpu cooler on mine.

You have to level up until you can unlock the 1600, it's been in my hallway for 2 weeks

Agreed. Yes, rejecting a job won't cause penalties anyway unless they will implement a feature where in customers can negatively review your shop or lose money or level. They'll have overclocking the devs said. Hoping for a overclocking through the BIOS too. I'm Level 19 right now so I got used to Ryzen builds.

Nice! If I get a i7 8700K this year, I may think of getting a watercooler instead of a high tower cooler. I still have a i7 860 build and it has been 9 years since I got an upgrade. If I go to my original Ryzen 2nd gen plan, I'll continue with the high tower cooler since they're not that hot and I'll only do mild overclocking. :)
