Any Tips how to solve this Problem?

Same problem here. After that, when I uninstalled it and wanted to download it again, Steam pauses with the message content file locked.

the exe file is being recognized as a virus by (for me) Bitdefender, didnt find a fix yet.

I had same issue initially, uninstalled, ran ccleaner on registry, started steam in admin mode, installed but in new location. These steps worked for me

If you are unlucky enough to have a virus scanner labelling the game (executable) as a virus, then the only proper way to fix that is by whitelisting it in said antivirus.

Same problem here. Bitdefender still recognizes the executable as a virus.

Bitdefender will probably use "heuristic analysis", and while doing that, accidently marked it as a virus. That is called a "false positive". I would Google how to whitelist an executable in that virusscanner. Or uninstall it and get some other anti virus. (or use the build in Windows Defender in combination with Malwarebytes).

Yes, I've had more that one false positive with Bitdefender and I always reported them. As for my experience they fix those false positives relatively quick. I've read in other thread that someone already reported it and that BD had recognized the file as clean, but it seems they haven't fixed it yet. I hope they do it soon.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but ive been using BD for years and never once has it flagged any other executable i got on steam, this is the first time its happened. False positives are extremely rare with BD in my experience. Its not impossible, but its also possible something is not on the up and up w. this .exe too.

I haven't used anything else except for Windows Defender for quite sometime with no problems. Other Anti-Virus/Malware programs I have tried were known to through up some false positives every once in a while.

It was a long time ago but I got a false positive with STORM: Frontline Nations, with Pacific Storm, and with some other game before this one. Other false positives I got were non-steam games. I think it's not so rare and that BD tends to overreact.

Anyway, I tend to believe in what my antivirus says until it is verified in case of a suspected false positive.
