Does anyone actually do the "upgrade PC to X 3D Mark score" requests?
They seem almost never worth it. The performance they want doesn't seem achievable from upgrading within the small amount they pay you.

- only do this job when you have spare parts then its a golden shower of money. Take some time in game to get at that point.
You get the most experience points from doing these jobs. So if you want to level fastest then yes, always do these every time. Besides if you know what you're doing you don't have to spend a single dollar to complete these jobs, so free money too.

i never find it worth it. They seem to always give around 200-400$ but cost about the same in parts.

The thing about these jobs is that after the benchmark has been achieved, you can change the hardware again afterwards without having to retest. As long as the system boots you can complete them. So if you want to use it, these jobs are essentially free money/experience.

I tend to just reject/cancel them if I don't think they're worth it. But the option is there.

NOPE! You never have to spend a single buck out of pocket if you know what you're doing, and sometimes you can even get a sexy fast gpu out of it free too, depending on what you have spare parts in your inventory currently.

TBH, I have *no* idea how to do these right. Sure, I try all the spare parts I have but, nada. I just don't grasp how it derives it's value so I know what to boost. I have one who wants his over 4000 and it has the best Ryzen CPU available to me and the best video card I can buy with the $385 offered, and none of my spares are any better. For giggles I threw in a 16gb memory module and, nope, no luck. :(

Here's a pro tip for you: Go in to free build and try to replicate a build almost identical to what your current customer wants down to the last part of what they current have. Then in free build, you can mix and match things like change the processor.. run 3dmark. Change the ram, run 3dmark. Add more ram, run 3dmark. ETC. And remember you can alt-tab multiple times to make 3dmark skip it's self in this game. Then you can learn how the 3dmark test in this game derrives it's values. And that way you don't waste career money. Then when you understand how it works, go back to career and do it right the first time.

That's what I did. And now I can get 3dmark upgrade jobs right 98% of the time just by guessing.

Ok. as the number isn't anything I could figure out math magically. Add the two figures and divide by 2 was no where near what it derived. O.o How do you alt-tab in game? Obviously not by actual alt-tab as that would make Windows alt-tab out of the game. O.o

Yes.. that is exactly what I meant. If you actually alt-tab out of the game to the windows desktop while 3dmark is running it will glitch and push it forward to the next 3dmark stage when you click on the game again. Do it 3 times to advance the entire 3dmark test in-game in about 5 seconds.

1. Buy best GPU that you have unlocked
2. Get job with 3d mark score of whatever
3. Remove there graphics card and put the best one in
4. Run 3DMark to get the score
5. Remove the 'Best Graphics card'
6. Install old one
7. Boot to os
8. Leave at door and claim reward

Though I do notice that, in free build, all components are available, not just the ones available in career mode. I hope this doesn't lead to needing parts I don't have access to. I already have a "Upgrade my CPU" but already has a Ryzen 1500 x CPU so no better CPU is available job that's been sitting on the floor for some time now. Supposidly by the next level, 7, I'll get the 1600s unlocked. >.<

And watch the game devs now patch that out in the next release. >.<

For me the 3D Mark requests are by far the most interesting requests and cheating would (for me) take away the whole point of playing the career mode.

as long as profit can be made, even if its only $1 just like like any other task, if it says hey i want 7000 score and im paying $129 then no...
well, for me at level 19, this job is profitable with all the spare parts I bought from PCbay and from other upgrade request and you also can keep the parts from the PC in the job which you can use on other ones later on. the small ammount of money they pay + the parts you keep sometimes are more valuable than the parts you put in to get higher score ;) of course I don't exploit the glitch that 3Dmark score get save after benchmarking with higher components and then swapping for the less powerful ones. ;)
