Is it possible to change case?
I've got a job but the case ive picked isnt big enough for the graphics card i need but i dont know how to change the case. I can't start from new because the "new build job" is assigned ti the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

you should be able pick the sticky note back up and put it back on the whiteboard, might have to strip the machine down first maybe i dont know, but i know you can do it

or better still move the case to the hallway maybe, anyway it can be done, ive done it...

okay i just done one its before you have applied a case to the task mate that you can pick the stickynote back up and put in back on the whiteboard, it looks like once you have applied a case to the job can no longer do it

i would be guessing but you might be able to apply another stickynote from another job to it, let me skip a load of tasks and try for ya

nah man sry this dont work either, i was thinking if you could apply another rebuild to it, you could bypass but no joy im afriad

pick up any empty case from the corridor, go to the workbench where the new build is.
I think there is a 'swap pc' option then avail. . Not sure if that also picks up the post-it/sticky note.

that sorta works but it doesnt unassign, it just hotswaps the case on the desk unfortuanly, i had a case in storage cupboard :)

yeah would be nice if you could pick the sticky back up. I have the same problem. grabbed the wrong case and now I'm stuck with a case that costs way to much for the $500 I'm allowed to spend on the computer. :( Can devs please fix this?

A "job" is tied to a case, and we use the case to interact with the job, this is one of the game mechanics. That's why we can't change a customer case. And for a build job, you can't start working on it while there is no case, and once you assigned a case it' tied to the job.

A lot of people assume that an OS is tied to a case, it's not, it's tied to a job. The status of the OS and software installed are just parameters of the job. But because cases also tied to jobs, people assume that.

So, for now, we can't change cases.

This makes a lot of sense. Thank you. I am also currently on an upgrade job where I have to put in dual graphics cards but they won't fit in the case. So get a bigger case, right? Sigh. Oh well.
