Literally this is the definition of unsolicited spam: linking to off-site, non-steam software that you want people to install on their computers.

Where have you seen any information stating the developers actually used software provided by Speccy?

i didnt say that. i said its inspired by it.
By the way to anyone finding this thread: Go to the main steam program -> Help menu -> System information. You can view everything about your computer inside steam it's self without this "Speccy" thing. You do not need some random unknown program installed on your computer from some random internet person. No one knows exactly what that thing does.

Random, unknown?... O.o

Everyone who knows anything about computers knows Speccy... Like, its pretty much the default go-to program. Any Geek on the planet worth their two cents can verify that I'm not blowing smoke.

I built the computer I speced out.. I'm a professional 3D Artist. a Modder, and a Gamer. some of my Assets that I've modeled in 3D has made their way into video games and movies....

90% Chance I was swapping 32 and 64 MB Ram sticks before you were even potty trained. My knowledge of computers goes back to the late 80's and early 90s.

I'm not just some random dude. I'm actually well informed.

Now if you'd be so kind as to either, Spec out, or get out... Because your derailing the point of the thread with your ignorance of software programs.

I work at a large computer store chain and not once have we used speccy when building PCs or fixing them. I have never even heard of it. I agree with @Aquafawks

And I've been building and repairing computers for people since the XT days literally before the internet existed. I too have never heard of this software before this thread was posted. I'm trying to think in my mind why Archer801 (By the way, a level 0 steam user with a private profile) would of posted it in this thread when we can already do the exact same thing within the steam client it's self already, and Archer801 knew that. The only logical thing that even makes sense in my mind is probably Archer801 either works for is affiliated with the Speccy company and this entire thread is some sort of attempt to get people to use their software and hopefully pay for it. This entire thread is "Fishy" and literally smells like unsolicited spam.
