Is a membership for Pirate101 even worth?

Prefacing this by saying I played this outside of steam and I refuse to use discord so I'm saying this here.

As much as I like the setting, the style, the unique combat compared to many other mmos Ive played that all feel the same, and the furry girl following me around, with only a few hours to a days worth of trial content as a free player nothing has completely hooked me enough to pay.
Is it even worth it? I would like to see more of the game, but I see more worth in putting my money into a game I know I will like instead.

These games are over 10 years old, yet you cannot even finish the first arcs for free. Why? MMOs like FF14 or Runescape will give you more worth as a Free to Player, yet I finished the trial content for this in a few hours. It just drives potential players like me away from a game that clearly needs fresh blood. If skull island was free or if I had a decent paying job in this economy I wouldn't be asking this question.
