The narrator became... Robin Hood? [Harold II Godwinson campaign]

In the epilogue of the aforementioned campaign, the narrator says "[...] a lazy eye is a small price to pay for a title of earl of Locksley," and I don't quite understand that. Locksley is a fictional place, home to Robin Hood. So who exactly is the narrator? Am I supposed to understand this as him becoming Robin Hood on the game's kind-of-historical-but-not-quite timeline? He is shown carrying a bow and arrow as he says that.

Any history buffs here, help me understand!
