Finally ended up cheating by using a trainer. Created forces I needed because it let me have unlimited iron and wood. Once I had what I needed I saved the game then quit out. Took off the trainer and finished out the chapter on my own.
This was the first Chapter ive had to do that. Im playing through in order from the vikings to Anglo Saxons. On one other chapter I ended up having to switch to easy, but all the others ive done Normal. Im definitely getting better at the game, but this chapter was really tough for me.
This is the trainer I used:

It works well.
Anyway this mission doesn't give me the motivation to continue this game. Its gameplay is very limited and repetitive. Plus I hate the maps where you have endless waves of enemies and there are too much of these in Ancestors Legacy. A shame because the game could easily have been more innovative and more interesting to play.
1st phase: archers on the hill, put infantry in the corner in order to limit casualties and hide the cavalry in the high grass (on your right, just before the hill, so you'll surround your enemies when they attack... Hint: use often your cavalry cause once it starts the 2nd phase you won't have it anymore, the key is to keep alive your infantry)
2nd phase: here things start to get apparently harder. The key is to build traps to the right of the hill (do this whenever you can, even before resting your troops after a fight), at some point this will became a walk in the park if you manage well your resources.
3rd phase: catapults are a hindrance to your forces, still they can be useful if you put them right after the bridge, in the meantime try to reach your base with the rest of your troops and set up traps like the 2nd phase
4th phase: cavalry arrived, crush everything in your path
Congratulations, you won the campaign at maximum difficulty
but the mission is very unbalanced. To got them is a rare achievement xD
