Battle of Dunkrut- Disarming the traps

So I am trying to do the first part of the mission "Battle of Dunkrut". However, the last 3 traps I cannot actually see until I walk over them and one of them kills my hero outright when that happens. So how do I complete this part if I just die from it? The other traps become visible when I move near them, but these 3 (the far left of the starting map), do not.

At this point I have tried switching stances, using torches for extra light. And moving the heros 1mm on the screen at a time hoping it will suddenly appear before they die. Nothing works
