Inventory between factories
Do we know when this will be made possible?

Same, started one for tnt chems seeing it is slower than making the cords, but doesn't show up in inventory to use. Maybe they will make it so you can set up shipping between factories.

That is the plan. Hmm If I had to give an estimate, I would say it is coming within the next couple updates.

same here i bought a chemical factory to speed up the process. instead i now run 2 factorys which one i cannot even use.
I really advice adding this as soon as possible the different factory's have a little issue due to this

Why can't you use it? You can absolutely figure out and setup efficient multiple factories to produce finished products.

I think they mean you can't make fabric gloves in 1 factory, and use them in another factory to make the camo gloves.

I understand. I was really referring to him saying "one I cannot even use" :)

Yep this would be really nice as making sub components in one Factory would save a tremendous amount of space in other Factories.

It's got to the point now where I'm putting the game down until this update. But I WILL be back once it's there.

Same here. Once I got to TNT and had to build two factories that basically house 4 full supply chain processes each and cannot keep up with demand...I told myself I am not even going to bother to start making guns or play any further until I can make sub supply chains in factories.

Looking forward to gun manufacturing in the future.

Can you elaborate more on how it is limiting you? Maybe some thoughts on the perfect setup for your setups.

The feedback will be absolutely useful for us as we're still thinking on the best way to set them up. A few things if you're interested in knowing:
1- If a factory is producing final products and you're turning it into a passive factory for intermediates, we need to properly handle the Finished products consumption of said intermediate items OR offer the player the option to make the factory produce no finished product at all, only intermediate.
2- Not only the current active factory but also passive factories will almost definitely be able to receive intermediate deliveries from multiple factories. So we need to properly update the running cost of the passive factory depending on what is getting delivered to it. It might even have a surplus. So we need proper handling of that both in the backend and frontend UI.

Just thought I would let you guys have a glance at my programming world haha where a single idea in an advanced project will turn into dozens of small problems to handle :)

I understand making changes entails lots of time and vetting. So in my case and first factory I had the default single Glove product running and then added 3 Pants lines.

Somehow while learning the game I noticed my Inventory had massive amounts of sub-components stored even though I had full product lines setup. I can only guess I used to the "Restore Contents" button from the Workstation which dumped a backlog of subcoms and regular raw materials into Inventory.

I had 10k units of Fabric Glove subcoms. Seeing that I found that I could simply add a dispenser (I searched these forums and saw that answer from you Shinzo) and insert the excess Fabric Gloves into the existing Product line and shut off the machines that were making the Fabric Gloves in the stream in order to use up the excess stored subcoms.

In that light and logic I began to try and create smaller individual subcom lines for my TNT items like the "TNT Tank S" subcom since that line takes longer than the sister line that makes Det Cord.

However, I found I could not simply add a Dispenser to insert the excess "TNT Tank S" into the line like I did with the Fabric Gloves.

I would be happy to send my Save Game via email or attach in Steam PM if possible. I don't use Discord.

Idea wise to offset "interfactory deliveries" you could add an extra expense charge or delay in inventory delivery by sometime depending on Factory locations (USA to UK for example) if there is some concern using such a process would simplify or cause to much imbalance in the money making process.

Thanks for the feedback. We definitely want to have interfactory intermediate item deliveries, so the feedback helps.

A note about the TNT dispenser matter, TNT is a chemical, so check in a Chemical Dispenser, you should find relevant intermediate items there to be dispensed mid-line.

The way I would have imagined it playing would be that an ints. passive factory could produce X and you'd pay a sum for it to get delivered to another factory. Perhaps a timing element would keep some of the realism. So, if A and B we in differing countries it would cost more and take more time for it to arrive.
Also, you could add the legalities to each particular country making it more risky to export/import particular goods from or to specific locations.
It would also be nice to be able to redirect excesses and divert them to other factories. - A balance between purchase vs. delivery costs/time would have to be found somewhere there too. So, in this example, factories would need to be able to provide finished items and ints. simultaneously.
This game is already very good but the potential is endless. To make some ridiculous conglomerate of factories is an exciting prospect. I was pretty much only in a place where I was experimenting with the game and thought 'right, if I make one factory that makes an absolute ♥♥♥♥-ton of gun cotton, what can I find to do with it?' I'd love to be able to find out.....

Pretty sure I tried a Chem Dispenser for the intermediate items I was attempting to craft in excess. I will double check and make sure I am crafting the excess intermediate in the same Factory for now and see if the Chem Dispenser allows distribution from Inventory for that stuff.

In the mean time I did solve the slowness in crafting a full TNT production line by adding 3 extra Sulphuric Acid dispensers to the TNT Tank S offshoot item. Line is cranking the stuff out now that I have four acid dispensers dumping into my 3 way belt that distributes S. Acid to the whole production line in general.

I think it would be neat to have essentially a dispenser that is shaped like a large rollup door that you could insert into a blank wall space, that would be the receive door and in the other factory you have a dispense door, the UI would ask what products and to which factory when you set up the doors. Different grades of doors take more items out at once speeding truck loading, and different grades of trucks would speed up the shipments, or you could order slow trucks med trucks fast trucks and the next grade up would be those trucks delivering to trains, then back to trucks and to the factory each step along the upgrade path would make it faster to deliver. Depending on where you put the doors at either end you have to work out the routing so strategic door placement is a must. You could have weather events, flooded roads, strikes etc that put a pinch into your shipping.

What a programming nightmare I'm sure but just brainstorming.
