Replacing Chrome Remote Desktop?
I used LogMeIn when it was free so I could remotely access other PCs on the network. That want pay-for-play, so I moved to Chrome Remote Desktop since I use Chrome most of the time. Lately, Chrome Remote Desktop has been sluggish, etc. It's clear it's not a priority for Google to support it, either.

I've loved Stardock's culture and some of the games for many, many years, never using any of their desktop apps. Now I'm trying to understand whether Multiplicity might be a solution for my remote desktop access needs. I find the marketing material, including videos that I've seen so far, to be inadequate for me to understand all of it's uses.

Will this put a desktop from a remote PC in a Window that I can minimize, move around, etc.? If a remote PC has a different resolution, will that be retained in the windowed presentation?

I really feel a better demonstration of this product is needed or I need to be pointed to one, as I find none. Also, the "Requrements" don't list network connection even though I assume that is how this app communicates with other PCs.

Thank you for any insights and assistance that may help me better understand this app's use and fitness for my purpose!

I think Multiplicity KVM or KVM Pro is what you would be looking for. There is a free trial and more info on that on our site.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Soon after I posted this I found that there was a free trial. Audio and encryption are all I'm looking for so that means Pro, it seems. So far it's working well - much better than Chrome Remote Desktop currently is. There is a bit of lag after first connecting, but it goes away within a couple of seconds. Thank you for the reply!

Try TeamViewer as well. You can change the resolution of the remote desktop and it does appear as a draggable/resizeable window. Also free for non-commerical use. Don't use the Windows Store version tho-it has connecting issues and forces those resolutions to persist even after disconnect. Unline the regular TeamViewer 12.

I tried TeamViewer some years back and found it bulky and slow. I'm pretty happy with Multiplicity for my needs. It seems it will be $39.99. I can do that. I really like a number of things about Stardock. And I really dislike a number of things about Microsoft. You can take a lot of all of that back to OS/2. LOL

Yeah, I'm old.
