Compared to a KVM switch...
Beyond the obvious of a shared clipboard. (although a simple vnc could do that as well)
I'm just wondering if I am missing something here. What makes this software special is my question?

This is giving you a software connection to control multiple PCs with one mouse and keyboard.
  • Seamless: Control up to 2 PCs with one keyboard and mouse
  • Preserve formatting on text and images which are copy & pasted between two PCs
  • Audio Share from multiple PCs and listen through one PC
  • Seamlessly switch between PCs using a mouse, hotkey, and touch (for touch-enabled monitors)
  • Hot key or touch to a specified field in an application or form

It is not KVM only KM

The KVM is not available on steam only on Stardocks site and more expensive.

It comes in several flavors, (I`ve used a few).

I started with a version which lets you use 2 PC`s with one mouse and keyboard, (but no KVM function), I upgraded and bought a version direct from Edgerunners own site, which allowed up to 9 PC`s with 1 mouse and Keyboard, and also 1 KVM connection to a single PC, (KVM works similarly to teamviewer).

The version I`m using now allows me 2 KVM connections and lets me control just 2 PC`s plus the controlling PC using a single mouse etc. (which I found odd tbh because although it was a step up from one KVM connection, it REDUCED the PC`s I could control locally, to two . - I can add them to multiplicity but only actually have 2 live on it`s grid at a time so not sure if this is by design or a fault).

Going on.., theres ANOTHER version which allows 9 PC`s locally and 1 KVM connection,

and then theres the fully loaded version - KVM Pro, which allows 9 PC`s locally and 9 via KVM.

What I`m trying to say & explain is this, - if you intend buying this, look very carefully at your requirements as there are so many variants of it. The price goes from $19.99 to $99.00 dependent on which you buy.

Thanks demo, that helped clear some things up for me. I've been using the Steam version for a bit and I'm really impressed, but I probably should have done more research - I wasn't even aware that the KVM Pro version existed.
