Ghost Master

White screen and error on launch (SOLVED)
Can't even play the game.... Anyone know how to fix this?
Edit: I have managed to rectify this problem for my computer. The game doesn't seem to want to work if you have AMD cards or are using Windows 7 and I found this to be the easiest solution. (copied from my last comment)
I found this thread that says how to fix the game. The solution at the very bottom (Copy Steam.dll from the Steam installation directory (usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam or C:\Program Files\Steam) to the Ghost Master directory (under the steam folder, this is in steamapps\common\Ghost Master\) ) worked for me fine! After all this time, I've finally got the game running! HOWEVER, I find that I can only use the Ghost.exe shortcut in the steamapps/common/ghostmaster folder. The shortcut in my Steam Library does not work.

Same problem with no resolution. I attempted verifying game files, turning off steam overlay, rebooting steam, rebooting computer. Also tried various compatability mode combinations (256 colors, low resolution, WinXP SP3) Nothing works. Steam please fix or give us refunds. It's not the dollar the game costs, its the principle of selling tomething that doesn't work.

And change the exe. compability to 16 bit color mode, then it runs fine on 1920/1080 p (on Win 8.1). Hope that helps.
there is no option for compatibility mode on mine :x at least on the shortcut i've found for the game...

@Crispy and Learner
Go to Steam library, then right click on Ghost Master, then properties, then local files, then browse local files, then right click on GhostData, open it, right click the exe.,then go to properties,then compatibility and you see there you can change to 16 bit.
Use the Win XP Service Pack 2 mode.
Sometimes you must click twice again (right click) on the exe. before the needed window with compatibility mode opens!

PhysX Legacy is a tool (driver) which is helpfully for games that are released before 2008.
You can download and install it like any other driver. And don´t worry, the normal PhysX works simulate to it. Here´s the link for download:

@All
Oh and btw: I only can say that it works with Win 8.1 and Nvidia cards. Don´t know how it is with other OS or AMD cards. And check out that you use the latest card drivers.
For me GM runs without any problems in 1920/1080p, hope I could help.

Yep, still not working. Thanks for your help though. It appears that the patch is the only way to fix this and I have yet to find a rehost of it.

It's probably because you're running 8.1 and have Nvidia cards. I don't know about everyone else, but I have 7 and AMD cards. Thanks for your help, though. For those with 8.1 and/or Nvidia cards, that may just be the solution they need.

I found that:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=895521
Maybe this works?

That would only work if the game wasn't crashing as soon as I open it. :(
HaVik 24 AGO 2014 a las 1:22 p. m.
What? It crashes when you open the files?
That´s more mysterious as the game itself.
HaVik 24 AGO 2014 a las 1:29 p. m.
Ah sorry I misunderstood, I see what you mean.

Last hope: Many problems can be fixed by installing the June 2010 DirectX runtime package. Some older games aren't compatible with the libraries included with current releases of DirectX and this package should help. You can find the installer here:
