dont want to mess about with all that rubbish just want to be able to host a map on my computer so my friends can join. I dont know if that is possible/ easy but it should be on already. Thanks

Well, this is how to set up a private server. If you don't want to mess around with this stuff then it's simply impossible for you to create one - you have to follow this guide even if you set up a server on your own pc.

Why not just add an option in the multiplayer mod?

"just add an option" - well this is not how it works. We have other priorities atm. You could write a feature request in our gitlab so we can focus on that as soon as the other important stuff is done: https://gitlab.nanos.io

That could be a cool feature for a future update.

Alternatively, you can create a server by going to Library -> Tools -> Just Cause 3 Multiplayer Dedicated Server

After you have installed it, installing packages is the same as it is in the tutorial.
