Text cut off in dialogue windows/signs (and other bugs)
Not a game breaking problem unless the dialogue becomes super important later on, but it seems like the text is getting cut off in the dialogue windows and signs, as visible in this screenshot.[i.imgur.com]
I'm playing at a 2560x1440 resolution, so I assumed that might be the cause, but after lowering the resolution to 1080p it still wasn't appearing properly, so I'm not sure.

Other than that, the music is pretty loud (in my opinion anyway) with no in-game volume control, the game seems to be locked to 50fps and controller support would be nice, but none of these are critical issues, for me at least.
Otherwise, the little I've played seems pretty good! These problems aren't enough to prompt me to refund it or anything, it was super cheap and I'm a big fan of your work regardless, just wanted to bring them to your attention.

Looking forward to the Council of Crows!

Ah, crap. That's really not supposed to happen. I have a vague idea as to what might be causing it... will try some remedies.

So this happens everywhere, right? In the intro, all dialogue, signs, etc.?

If you could post another example, I'd be super grateful. Just trying to understand the pattern by which it's doing this. (At first I thought it wasn't wrapping the text at all, but of course it is displaying the second sentence on another line, so... WTF?)

Oh, and I've uploaded a build where the volume starts a bit lower and can be adjusted with +/-. The latter feature is still undocumented, but I'll add it to the main menu soon.

Contacted the people who make Clickteam Fusion (with which I made the game) to see if they have any ideas about the text bug. The text does sort of matter in the game, although theoretically you could complete it without reading anything.

I've been told to ask whether you have your system text size set to anything over 100%. Seems like a wise question indeed.

Sorry for the slow response - here is an album[imgur.com] with some more examples; I haven't been able to play very far yet, but it does seem to be happening everywhere (except when the sentence is very short), in the intro, in the dialogue and the signs during the levels and even on the menu if you want to delete your save data.

My system text size is set to 100%, not above. I hope this helps, if you need to know anything else just ask. Thank you!

Thanks! Wow, this is weird. It does wrap the text, but somehow the width is totally off.

Are you using anything else that magnifies stuff in some way? Just wondering, because of the high resolution. I had a problem like that once with another game, though that was ages ago.

If not, at least that eliminates one possible cause.

No, I'm not using anything that magnifies stuff as such, although saying that I did manage to find and fix the problem since you mentioned magnification. I use a replacement font renderer (gdipp) to improve text legibility on Windows, I tried excluding Omegaland from using it and sure enough, problem solved.[i.imgur.com]

Kind of a weird, specific problem. I've been using it for so long I forget it can cause problems with text in some things, it's fine like 90% of the time but not this time it seems. I'm not sure how it was just changing the width either. At least it's a solution I suppose!

I'm really sorry for bothering you with what turned out to be a problem on my machine, not the game itself. I really appreciate your help though, and thank you for the audio fix!

No problem! Things can go wrong in so many weird ways, it's always good to ask. And if it happens again, I know what it might be.
This still happens to me I am using Pop_OS! (Linux distro), if there is a chance of fixing it let me know and I will give more details.

Yeah It seems some obscure compatibility issue with Proton.
It still persists to exist. It happened on my EndeavourOS and Bazzite Linux setup too.
