Unusual circumstance leads to no combo sphere bug

I have an unusual situation that has resulted in me not getting a combo sphere. I had played the game, getting to around level 9 or 10 on a warrior, beating the first boss and getting the sphere, then over some runs got past the third boss and died on the barracks levels.

I had been about to do a computer upgrade, changing out most of my computer hardware, and had hoped there were cloud saves in the game. I did the computer upgrade, installed and booted up the game, and found that not to be the case. I created a new warrior and I have made it all the way to the fourth boss, but I have yet to find a combo sphere. I beat the first boss, and then took the unlocked shortcut on subsequent runs. I just beat the first boss a second time and still no combo sphere.

I am going to unlock the library hopefully after this run to see if that allows me to get it.

Unlocking the library did allow me to stat gaining combo.
