I made many runs with shadowcurse on many different characters but i didn't find (or recognize) any even when clearing all map every time
even opted in on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ price for making more of them appear and nothing

Its just literally a giant bonfire that isn't lit. Like a stone/firepit circle with logs stacked vertically in it.

its even market on the map, but only useable if you are cursed.
you cannot miss it.

i only saw them in the black citadel forward in new game.

I have seen them in the crypt on NG+ a couple times.
My fiance and I did a run last night though where we saw not a single pyre.
Not once did one of them show up.

yeah in ng+ you can get cursed alot further
in new game its only the 2 stages before the 4th boss that you can take curses yourself if you want.
and the pyre i only see in the area after the 4th boss, i think thats dark citadel.

so generally speaking there's no point to playing risky because there's no way for it to be profitable, sad

update, found my first pyre, imidietly obvious. So first spawn was at 5th class being brought to lvl 10

i am sure big ones that reduce it by 8 are guaranteed in the dark cathedral, can´t remember i ever had a floor without one

They are very notivable, gieant bonfires in purple light

yea after a while i found one, but apparently im unlucky because i found one after leveling 4 or 5 different classes to lvl 10+
