Enemy Lightning Damage Excessive
I can make a a class that can stand still and tank both of the skeleton bosses until they die, without using a potion. I then move one floor upwards and instantly die to every lightning skeletal mage.

The lightning damage is so excessive it's basically game breaking for all the melee classes. No amount of lightning resistance is enough to mitigate this issue (260 lightning resistance still leads to death after two hits, which are usually instant and unavoidable). It's actually so game breaking it's hard to understand how this wasn't caught in QA/testing...

yeh I agree with this. They seem a bit overturned. I try and get lightning resistance in previous floors and it's completely pointless.

I think the only way to safely deal with them is to kite them around corners and target them ASAP in the fight.

The problem comes when you can't kill the elite versions of them quickly and if there are multiple of them, they can just one shot you.

Its the difficulty spike between barracks and court levels.

Had the same problem, until i got better at predicting the enemy and strategically using dash, buying resistances at shop, increasing hit points and overall power of characters.

The difficulty of the game will ease up as you play, accumulate power and experiment with builds.

Some game devs seem to not test their games even once. It's as if they enter random numbers into their code and just assume everything is great. Then months or even years of development may pass and somehow in some unimaginable way the most obviously broken things still slip through. It really is a headscratcher.

Maybe just don't facetank the lightnings?

While this is true, the lightning damage from these enemies is way higher than what you would take from other enemies, even in the next area.
I played with friends yesterday, we met those lightning mages for the first time, two of them lined up their shots and 1-hit KO'ed my 800+ HP warrior.

This happened more than once (yeah, yeah, skill issue, I know), the problem I see is that the lightning bolts seem to hit you multiple times, dealing their full damage with every hit. If you ask me someone in the dev-team forgot to put in the 0.x multiplicator for their multi-hit attack or out of those 5 (6? 8? for elites) bolts displayed all hit the whole area instead of only where the graphics show.

You've misunderstood, I can kill them and progress. This isn't a complaint about skill, this is a problem with the game I've identified after many runs on all classes.

I was wondering why as soon as I got to that second library floor I would go from managing rather easily to dead from full HP.
it's tied to FPS apparently, so lock your frame rate to 60 fps and you should be good lol

I can confirm as well that the Lightning seems WAY overtuned for those Mages. End of the run and I easily had 2 times the worth of lightning dmg compared to everything else.

I will be trying the FPS fix, thanks for the info.

its funny because if you overprepare for courts blue wizards, you are basically melting the next stage minions, as they deal no damage compared to the wizards. I agree, the lightning damage from them is too much. Even with 50% damage redution, its bs.

Do we know for sure it's lightning damage? It's based on a sorcerer ability, and that class has an upgrade that turns the beams to ice and lets them shotgun a single target. That could explain the damage spikes.

But yeah these things are worse than bosses, and I'd love for them to be brought in line with everything else on that floor.

Oddly enough, on NG+1 they don't seem as bad, even with res penalty and shadow curse stacks

No, that's for the devs to figure out. There's too much happening on the screen to know for sure from my end. It's some combination of lightning skeletal archers and the lightning skeletal mages. The forked lightning can do 200+ per hit, and in melee range, it seems to hit multiple times. With the fact that many of these enemies also disable and/or silence, this entire level is so trollish it has made the game unfun. For the record, and to be clear, I've died 100 times to these mages. I've died abut 10 times to the various bosses, including the last boss. It's clear these enemies do more damage than they should.

I can confirm, in NG+1 they seem easier. It's possible that this is just a bug for the normal mode.

i got a feeling they fixed it; i haven´t died to a lightnign mage in a long time,
but i mostly played ng+1 and above now

that one trap room with the randomly shooting orb in the dark citadels still seems busted tough

It's easy to dodge, but yeah it's like instant death if you're unlucky. I don't feel that's bugged, since it's a clear risk/reward thing.

i remember from realease that they did insane ranges of damages, i sometimes get hit now too but i don´t have the experience where they sap you for 300+ health

as another poster said maybe it is just broken in ng+0
