Yeah, I played the first game too.
But for me, this would be "a better experience in a coop game".
YES!
We can have changes that will be better for the game and make it more fun.
if you just wanna be stronger, then just cheat. find an item? delete it and tell your friend to give it to themselves via console. you'll just have to live with the cheater tag.
About 4/5 of my playtime is on coop.
But... The fun of the game is for both players to play...
If you want to be the strongest in this way, or your friend doesn't wanna play, or you don't wanna your friend to play.
The fun in a coop game is to play in a coop, with both (or all) players having fun.
The logistics behind my request are that sometimes you are playing with a class that doesn't use a lot of mana, and then get a lot of items or trinkets that buff mana/mana regen, and your friend is playing with a wizard (or another class) that would benefit more from that trinkets.
And I'll not comment about using cheat because is another thing.
But you will be able to "not trade" if you don't wanna...
While I am generally for "options" for players to have fun, I'm pretty sure this would be regretable even if it sounds like a good idea on paper. (I remember HoH1 I eventually hopped into a random coop, and dude had like an XP cheat or something on and gained max level in seconds ruining that character... yes I could delete and restart, but i had my own progress I didn't want to redo, and inevitably gave into and just accepted a bunch of gameplay being skipped out on for me and carried on)
NOW thats said, Trading trinkets mid-run (one-to-one, can't simply "give", must give+take, so never imbalances the player power) this is another story I'd say would be a nice QOL improvement especially for later NG+ runs in coop!
But not being able to drop equipment is a bummer. It should be allowed to trade items that you got in this run. It is sad when I get a nice shield as a mage and can't give it to my pally friend.
