Loading issues on steam deck
Haven't seen anything about this so maybe it's not an issue on PC, but on the steam deck the loading transition between areas takes a pretty long time, sometimes getting progressively longer into the run or freezing the game, and once in the new area there are stutters for a minute or two as stuff loads in. Dunno if there's a way to fix this or not.

I don't want to join a whole new discord server just to report a bug, I wish developers would stop telling people to do this. -_-

It is bad. The only temporary remedy I have found is quitting mid game and coming back but that’s not going to fare well with multiplayer games and not to mention its super tedious.

The fact you can’t even do a single run before it starts chugging after the first few stages is atrocious to say the least.

Yeah, I've noticed that it isn't run-based but more to do with how long I've been playing the game. After a while it's freezing up for minutes at a time. I'd normally attribute this sort of thing to a memory leak but I'm far from an expert.
I have it too, dunno if I want to play anymore now that I'm in the later stages consistently. Every level from crypt onward has serious lag, stutter and freezing, besides the arista room which is fine.
Yup, I’m experiencing the same issues. I’ve just been sad looking at my face in the black loading screen lol. It’s the same issue on my pc as well.

Turn on compatibility and use proton 7, solves the loading times and fps loss issues without having to constantly restart. There is still some minor stuttering at times even when using proton 7 but nothing that’s game breaking. Hopefully there will be a more official fix soon (along with other bug fixes of course).

Done this myself and I can go 3+ hours straight with no restarts.

Definitely will try this proton7 tomorrow and send feedback here. Looks like it is something linux-compatibility related indeed.

I can confirm that Proton 7.0-6 works. I'm closing in on the second major boss and noticed no stuttering or long load times at all. Normally at this point it's starting to chug a bit.
And here I am back after tests. Yes, it definitely helps to switch to proton7

Can confirm, Proton 7.0 no stutters on 3rd stage upward. Had to restart after 3 hours too
