Can someone explain how to build around "elemental equilibrium" on sorcerer?
From what I can tell:

I gain elemental affinity when you cast, say, an Ice spell. That affinity lasts for 4 seconds for ice. However, it appears if I then cast a spell of a different element, it immediately replaces the elemental affinity I have with the new element. If I cast an ice spell and then a lightning spell, my affinity becomes lightning.

So elemental equilibrium will double my ice spell bonus damage if and only if there are lingering particles from my ice spell on the screen (such as the Elemental orb)? is that the only use for it? or is there something I'm missing?

The best use of it would probably be as a Fire sorcerer, have ice or electricity on your primary skill and get the skill orb which creates fire wall patches when you dash.

Also if they ever make weapons viable it might work with a mismatched elemental weapon though I haven't tested if it only buffs spell damage.

Other than that I can only imagine that the damage boost is applied as you cast the spell so the spell remains buffed even after the elemental affinity changes, otherwise it wouldn't make much sense, though if it retroactively affects existing spells already cast you could do something like set up a fire wall then cast an ice/lightning spell to boost the firewall damage for most of the duration

Personally I just never get that skill orb

fire sorc is the way to go, spamming fire discharge has great sustain.
